Executive decision by Mr C.

Newboy is coming along so well! He looks so sweet sitting there.

Hermione is very much the attention sponge. I'm very glad there's 4 of us plus 2 cats she's loves otherwise I'm sure she wouldn't get enough attention.

I think she has been taking inspiration from Stablecat - she ran up my legs and back into my shoulder tonight Confused

Ps any hints on keeping said kitty off the kitchen benches??? Voice of disapproval just gets virtual cat finger at me

Lanaorana2 · 20/09/2017 09:40

Mr C behaved beautifully all night, although admittedly he was asleep. How was everyone's night?

Ollivander84 · 20/09/2017 10:08

Ollie was very annoyed that I couldn't sleep and kept staring at me and doing hard blinks "close eyes human, now you sleep. Not hard"
He was annoyed I was fidgeting I think Grin and disturbing his beauty sleep

Kibobear · 20/09/2017 13:16

My night is just beginning Grin

I'm expecting to sleep wearing my usual cat scarf

cozietoesie · 20/09/2017 13:21

Kibo

Seniorboy used to do pretty well what he pleased in my mother's house. She used to 'disapprove' but in a tone which really said something like 'Who's a coochy-coo then? Who's Muddy's wee boy, eh?' ( In other words she didn't really mean it. I'm different - I mean it. (Sub-text of my pronouncements ' If you even think about leaping up, I'm going to raze your village, salt your fields and sell your kittens into slavery! ' ))

You need to think about what you're really saying. (Although, her being such a delicious little madam, it may already be too late for you. Grin) Remember - enforcing a few (not too many - we have 3) House Rules won't cause her to dislike you. She'll likely just accept that. You also need to do it on the 'thought of sin', Siamese being big on 'The Sinful Thought Is As Bad As The Sinful Deed.' (And it's dead easy to tell when they're having a Bad Thought, once you know them.)

Actually, I suspect that it is already too late for you. You give the impression of already being firmly under the paw. Wink

Kibobear · 20/09/2017 13:45

Under the paw - whatever gave you that impression GrinGrin

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/09/2017 13:46

I get the cat finger too Kilo, he listens to mil but she tried to kill him with a Christmas tree so he is generally on guard around her.

He weed all over her new coat a couple of years ago which seems to have evened up the score.

At the end of the day I've got nothing, not going to hit him or withhold food. If I put him outside he just wanders off.

Kibobear · 20/09/2017 13:48

Yes - I think I need to work on catching the sinful thought. Looking back I do have some success if I catch her before she leaps into action. Problem is she leaps when my backs turned lol.

Kibobear · 20/09/2017 13:52

Cat scarf in action

cozietoesie · 20/09/2017 13:53

'Catching The Bad Thought' helps that impression of omniscience. Grin

Kibobear · 20/09/2017 13:59

I can stop my kids in their tracks with "the look" - not so effect on Miss Slinky!

Personally I blame the Persians who came before her - they lulled me into a false sense of security Grin

cozietoesie · 20/09/2017 14:10

I don't know Persians as well as Siamese, I fear. You generally need to be at the top of your game with Siamese, though. They're both very bright and - if allowed - very wilful. Wink

cozietoesie · 20/09/2017 14:12

And they usually have the best 'Who me? Lil' ole fluffball me?' in the business. Grin

Ollivander84 · 20/09/2017 14:13

Oh I know that "me?!" Look SO well Grin

Lanaorana2 · 20/09/2017 15:44

Cat scarf the ultimate in autumn chic.

You do know, o omniscient ones, that catching the thought and changing it is the basis of CBT.

CBT = Cat Boss Telepathy.

Oh balls, sepsis leg has kicked off again. Well, not literally. Power dope and lying down for me, which is great as I can Netflix with abandon and I could well use a break from good works.

cozietoesie · 20/09/2017 16:49

CBT works on Mr C does it? Grin

Lanaorana2 · 20/09/2017 17:43

He is a fan of Primal Scream therapy to satisfy his needs. Grin

The pictures are lovely. However, that look from Ollie has made me very sad. It makes me feel guilty and I don't even know him.

Of course, they are working cats. Keeping people warm when the cold weather appears. And keeping vermin away by the sheer smell of cat. Read that somewhere. The scent of a cat on the premises is supposed to deter rodents from hanging about.

cozietoesie · 20/09/2017 19:14

Having a real mouser in residence is even better! Smile

cozietoesie · 20/09/2017 19:59

Well Newboy stopped eating his nice Country Hunter but has just polished off a plate of Tesco pâté. I can't help feeling I'm being played but it's difficult to hang tough when he's still so troubled. Having said which, if he survives on cheaper food, I'm going to save a small fortune.

Lanaorana2 · 20/09/2017 20:09

I reckon it's the variety that's the secret to happiness, although they clearly do know what costs and what doesn't. Mind you, a mix of cost in foods might as well be behind the variety as anything else. Was it one of those 25p pate trays? Mr C won't touch it.

OP posts:
Mightybanhammer · 20/09/2017 20:13

I think the rodent thing might be true. All my neighbours have had, let's say, 'issues' but my house has stayed free of the little blighted.

Except dead, outside back door.

Blighted

Lanaorana2 · 20/09/2017 20:49

Best pic ever to explain why a home is pest-free. Grin
