I live on a cul-de-sac, I have a cat, neighbours on the grove have cats, neighbor at the top of the road feeds the local cats and the gardens back on to other gardens so cats use our gardens to pass through.
Got that?
OK so my carer and I have names for all the local cats, some are their human given name (Sooty, Tigyy2 etc) the others have aquired namse such as Hoppy - three legged cat, Tiglett - Tiggy's kitten whose name we can't remember but looks just like Tiggy2 and of course THAT BASTARD CAT - the one who lets himself in, eats my cat's food and settles himself down on the setee as if he lives here.
So last night it was warm so I was sitting outside reading, Misty was wandering around catching insects, I'd just had a visit from 'permanently startled black puss' and I heard a shuffle.
Almost under my feet was a Hedgehog, clearly having a good sniff and chew on the weeds.
She (I called her Ms Hedgehog at the time, no ide she could be male or trans for all I know) was clearly not afraid of me or the cat. I got her some dried cat food and scattered it near her, n piece hit her nose so she went in to a ball and 'chuffed' before unrolling and tucking in.
Thank you for reading so far.
So should I continue to call her Ms Hedgehog or the gender neutral 'Spike' or should she have another name?
I know the rule - pics or it didn't happen but the pics are really not that clear, you really are better off googling images of hedgehogs.
