Cats and fluffy food, what's that all about?

Why is it that if I give my cats a treat (e.g. a piece of chicken), they insist on carrying it through to the lounge and dumping it on the carpet before they eat it? Is it just my cats who do this?

I usually remember to shut the door, but the other day one of them actually went to the trouble of carrying the chicken out of the cat flap, round the front of the house and in through the open lounge window, grrr!

One of mine occasionally does this with her dry food.

Mine don't do this, but girl cat sometimes picks it out of the bowl and puts it in the tray which the bowl stands on, then eats it. She's a bit weird, she tries to 'bury' any leftover food by scratching the wallHmmGrin

Ollie when raw fed once brought a raw chicken wing into my bed for "a tasty snack momma to watch the film with you"

Mine do it too, not all the way to carpet but onto the back doormat which is next to the mat their bowls are on.

What is more annoying is that they do always make sure they bring up furballs on carpet rather than hard flooring.
