Feeling guilty about going on holiday and leaving my cat

We're off on holiday first thing Friday morning. Due to crazy schedule tomorrow we dropped our cat off with friends today but I'm feeling really guilty about leaving him.

I know I'm being silly and he will be fine. Our friends are very much cat people and looking forward to having him for the week. I know he will be spoiled rotten and well cared for, but I can't get the look of his wee face when we left out of my head. He just looked so sad and meowed after me as I headed out the door Sad. He rarely meows which makes it worse. We have never left him before and I just hope he doesn't think he's been abandoned.

I'm wandering round the house and it feels empty without him, I'm starting to wish we never booked the bloody holiday in the first place now.

I feel like this every time too.

He'll be ok. You'll take longer to get over it.

I feel the same but the girls cattery is posher than my hotel. Fatty spent 15 minute on the ow era knee having her chin tickled. It took 22 months for her to sit on my knee. 48 hours for her. Confused
