Dropped her off at 9.15 this morning. I hate this! I am sitting here with my phone willing it to ring so I can get her back.

She wasn't able to have anything to eat from 8pm last night so she wasn't very happy. Then getting put in the carrier.

Picked George up at 4.30. Got to monitor him closely, suspect we'll be back if the swaying/stumbling doesn't stop after the ear clean. Still worried about him tbh but so pleased he's home.

Wolfiefan · 10/07/2017 20:05

Tricky did you post a thread about the stumbling? Same cat?
I'm glad he's home.
Heal quickly kitties.

Sparklingbrook · 10/07/2017 20:07

Glad he's back Tricky. They are such a worry.

Mine is have my one next week, poor kitties!

I hope your cat is back home now and feeling okay. I'm going to assume that they have recommended a Royal Canin or Hills dental food for her? I hate that they do that, they've already suggested it for mine and it's utter rubbish! The ingredients speak for themselves. Full of cereal and rice which will stick to the teeth, and contains terrible quality, generally unspecified meat products.

Sorry, bit of a tangent there! It just makes me so cross that they recommend it, based on reps selling it to them for commission, and no actual medical evidence!

SpicedGingerTea · 10/07/2017 20:15

Same cat, and I'm so sorry for joining this thread Sparkling it's just when I saw your 'I don't know what to do with myself whilst cat at vet' post I had to share.

George is also booked in for a dental in August (though it may get put back to allow this problem to resolve). I've already been advised about Hill dental food - the waiting room was full of the stuff. I've also heard it's full of crap and my cats prefer chicken, preferable free range from Lidl

Sparklingbrook · 10/07/2017 20:16

I was all ready for the hard sell of special diets, stuff to go in the water and kitty toothpaste but no. Shock
We have tried everything over the years with zero success. She seems to be very prone to having build up on her teeth.

Oh wow, maybe your vets have actually done their homework and realise it's crap?! I'm getting ready to shove my nutrition training in their face when they start suggesting again that I put my cat on their special food again. Over my dead body.

I object to all of the foods they seem to stock, the ingredients are awful, and always the same two brands?! So many better foods out there! Some even cheaper!

Glad you're wise to the hard sell Grin

I'm glad kitties are home safely Smile

Of course they're probably still milking it for all their worth? Give them a chin rub from me!

Sparklingbrook · 12/07/2017 16:08

How's things Tricky?

Sparklingcat hasn't been herself since she got home. Sad Routine completely out the window. Terrible wind and she keeps licking her bottom, don't know what that's about. Confused
Appetite back to normal, she seems very tired.

He's just about settled into his normal routine. Spent the first 24 hours sitting on the floor in the spare bedroom (where he never goes) and I was worried about him.

Last night I found him at the bottom of my bed snoring like a trooper which is bit more normal, so I felt a bit reassured by that. And his balance is improving each day. Smile

Sorry to hear that Sparkling cat has lost her routine. It affects them so much going into the vets. Sad All being well George is back in August for a dental as well, and I'm already apprehensive about that for him.

childmaintenanceserviceinquiry · 12/07/2017 21:30

Hope all DCats feel better soon. Mine will have to have teeth removed under ga soon. I was feeling guilty about not having put him on the vets recommended dental food but now I don't. Thank you!
