Stable cat looks like a gladiator.

Allergictoironing · 25/07/2017 14:30

Don't HAVE any mice in the house for him to kill (indoors only remember), and tbh he's so thick & clumsy I doubt very much he would catch them if there were. They only living prey they have here is the odd fly or moth, which Girlcat is very fond of - I used to have a few spiders, but no more since seeing the legs trailing out of Girlcat's mouth a couple of times.

Neither of them steal food, they aren't interested in human food at all except the odd lamb bone as a chew toy for her, so can't be that either.

Ollivander84 · 25/07/2017 14:32

She's actually cuddly today. Don't tell Ollie

You probably have some. Smile

(I've seen no real evidence of mice in this house but The Lodger was utterly convinced that there was 'something' behind the skirting boards in the basement.

I defer to his expertise in these matters. Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 25/07/2017 14:36

Two-timer.

Allergictoironing · 25/07/2017 15:33

Pretty modern house with concrete floors etc, I DID have mice for a bit but they vanished as soon as the cats moved in. However I'll look out anyway, for remains if nothing else Shock!

As I said, Boycat is a bit too thick & clumsy to catch anything even a gently waved fishing type toy. He's spending a bit more time in his favorite wardrobe today, not come down for a mid-afternoon cuddle, so I'll keep a close eye on him when he finally emerges.

cozietoesie · 25/07/2017 16:30

I think that's as well. It does sound as if he has a touch of the collywobbles for some reason.

Allergictoironing · 25/07/2017 17:09

Just mentioned it to a friend, & she said her cat gets a funny tummy from spiders so it could be that. He's completely unconscious upstairs at the mo, I won't disturb him.

EachandEveryone · 25/07/2017 17:09

We are nervously waiting for the new cat sitter to pay a home visit. Guys, I need this to work.

When are they due? Smile

Allergictoironing · 25/07/2017 17:54

Argh I've definitely got a bad vase of PFCs! went up to check on Boycat as he still hadn't emerged for his usual afternoon cuddle. He didn't look up when I stood be his wardrobe & called him like he usually does. No reaction when I reached in & stroked him, none at all. So now I'm in a total panic - this is an exceptionally timid cat who is usually constantly alert for anything. Reached in further, wrapped hands round him & went to haul him out, nearly hiving myself a hernia in the process as he isn't exactly small. Nothing as I started to pick him up - I'm seriously worried now as he Doesn't Do being picked up.

Then suddenly he seemed to weigh twice what he had before, as he realised what was going on & latched on to his blanker with all 4 sets of claws & started to squirm. He struggled for a bit and I held him close, then he did his usual resigned limp mode then struggled again. When I let him go he was off so fast I didn't see him move, so I'm assuming he's OK!

I know I'm a bad cat slave torturing him when all he wanted to do was sleep off presumably eating something he shouldn't have (like a spider or fly) and I got all worried about him Sad

EachandEveryone · 25/07/2017 18:28

She's coming soon just text to ask if it's ok if she brings her husband to meet me. Is that normal?

cozietoesie · 25/07/2017 18:32

I have no idea. I'd guess it depends on their relationship.

cozietoesie · 25/07/2017 18:34

After all, you might be living with (or be) an axe-murderer.

EachandEveryone · 25/07/2017 18:41

Aw the bottom line is i live on a rough area even though shes a ten minute walk away im not daft especially after that fire last week. Weve been messaging to and fro and she has great reviews. I jus feel abit daft doing cat talk infront of a fella why would he be interested? Plus i dont like strangers in my flat never mind two of them. Im trying to keep an openmind i feel lije im on trial!

cozietoesie · 25/07/2017 18:54

He might not be interested - just brought along 'in case'. Relax. Smile

EachandEveryone · 25/07/2017 19:01

Daphnes buggared off outside to get high on her cat nip which is growing like a weed on my balcony. Typical.

dementedpixie · 25/07/2017 19:32

Maybe he will do some visits? My two coped well with the cat sitter we had even though they couldn't get to go outside. She sent photos every couple of days which I liked as we got an update I how they were

dementedpixie · 25/07/2017 19:33

Dusty on the cat sitters back when she was trying to put his food dish down!

Bless her shes a right character a proper north london jewish lady dolled up to the nines. We couldve sat gassing all night. I hope she can handle them in her heels. Shes a carer for her husband and is pet sitting. Shes looking after three chickens this week. I think she will be fine she said she wont let Daph out but i dont blame her. Its very much a trust thing but i got a good feeling about her. Luckily i work with lots of Jewish people so. Could discuss the merits of the local jewish schools!

EachandEveryone · 25/07/2017 20:18

Daph knows what's coming and is giving me a proper telling off although she thinks I didn't notice her jumping straight into the husbands lap

Little hussy. Wink

EachandEveryone · 25/07/2017 20:58

Yes i hope she behaves. The lady has sent me her driving licence and told me not to worryy. I know shes not a vet nurse etc and there were no forms to fill in but im going with my gut on this. Last time i filled in everything under the sun and was so dissapointed with the care they received it put me off leaving them at hone. This one is no nonsense salt of the earth type. She said shes down my road getting her nails done all the time shes certainly a breath of fresh air. Im going to go for it.
