Yes, you can get spring-loaded cat-proof fencing. Your garden will look a little like a POW camp though!

I fitted Purrfect fence at the weekend. Cat is still carefully examining his escape options -- the spring loading appears to be a deterrent but he has identified a small weakness by one window (as the wall is not quite straight there) and is keen to test it. I think I need to add a bespoke end panel to stop him.

It doesn't look too much like a prison, I think! Growing some honeysuckle up the fences to counteract the industrial look

We've put netting on top of the fences to stop Harry getting out. He wasn't impressed to start with but I think he's realised the benefits for him as he can stay out later!

Ours was based on Protect A Pet or Securacat but DH did it himself at a fraction of the cost.

We did it to keep him safe. I didn't want him going near the road and the UK cat killer has struck near us several times (and could kill anywhere) and I'm much happier knowing he's where I can see him.

@MrsNuckyThompson to stop them getting onto a road and run over, to stop them getting into other peoples gardens and houses and being a bother to other people or harm coming to the cat, to protect wildlife, to stop people stealing them, to stop the cat poisoner, to make them better 'pets' since they will be in the garden rather than in Mrs Smith at no40's garden!

People keep cats as flat cats, having an enclosed garden isn't much of a deprivation of liberty especially in an urban environment.

So the fence top has kept him in but he has discovered digging so I need to reinforce the bottom of the fence with some big rocks, I think.

Where can one buy heavy but flattish rocks...
