Cat drinking my juice out of my glass!

Does anyone else have a cat that does this? I noticed him doing it during the night with my drink on my bedside table (apple and pear robinsons) but now he tries to do it any time with most drinks if I have them in a glass! I have resorted to drinking out of water bottles as I am sure its not good for him to drink these things.
He has also suffered before with crystals in his bladder and and now has specialist food to try and prevent it from happening again.

Just wondered if any of your cats have similar habits?!

Yep mine do it too. Rather embarrassing when someone comes round and leaves their drink on the floor....

Mine does this.

Only with tea though. Hmm

@LoveMySituation
He loves a Stella. Classy. Could've been worse. Could've been a special brew! Grin
Very special Houdini black hooded. Loved that boy.

My littlest likes wine n whiskey. They'll both steal water from glasses. And biggest one will steal the straw from an glass n spray u with the water

My theory is that it keeps us in our place, a reminder of who's in charge!

they like to have water left to them higher than the floor level

@antimatter I didn't know that! Might explain why kitten like to drink out of my glass of water more than he like to drink out of his bowl.

I have two cats. One is a drink stealer. The other one likes to drink out of a rain-filled bucket in the garden. Or at this time of year, my daughter's paddling pool.

Meant to add a picture. I'm surprised she has never got a glass stuck on her head.

@WeeWillyWinkieFromEccles I caught mine drinking out of the excess water in the drip tray under a plant pot in the house... obviously like the extra tasty soil filtered water.

Oldraver · 26/06/2017 18:05

Ernie used to do this when he was younger so I had to stop keeping a glass of water on my bedside as he knocked it over a few times..

The (plastic) glass I have for upstairs has a chip in it so have been looking for another one but have discounted loads as being too wide for the bathroom shelf...I had totally forgotten till this thread why it now lives there.

Ernie also has a water bowl in the bathroom and I have to top it up each night after I have taken my tablet..or I get stared at..

Redsippycup · 26/06/2017 18:14

My cat drinks out of the toilet. And fetches sticks. And chases his tail.

He's basically a dog.Hmm

TroysMammy · 26/06/2017 21:13

I had a cat who I caught drinking out of my DP's glass one night. I didn't change the water and I never told him. It was mine and puss's secret Grin

BrollyDolly · 26/06/2017 21:40

@ilovechocolates I forgot mine also likes to steal straws! If I come home with a fast food drink he always goes straight for the straw and ends up knocking the drink over if I don't catch him!
Nice to have a little chuckle at all of your stories Smile

Haha I'd also forgot that my little DCat also drinks out of the toilet if given the the chance, licks the outside of the toilet, sucks the taps and drinks from the drip tray under plant pot. Basically anything except her watt bowls.

Also she likes tipping the bowls of water over so have had to get those beige, heavy ceramic bowls with 'dog' on it Hmm

She also chews the post if it's still hanging from the letterbox but refuses to carry it to me

Oldraver · 26/06/2017 23:34

Redsippy Ours also chases his tail...he's fallen down the stairs before now and once bit it so hard he yelped..and was a bit perplexed as to what happened.

Tonight Ds was throwing him a foam boomarang thing in the garden..he will run after it but not bring it back.. He loves sticks a swell
