Thinking of getting a dog as friend for SuperFlyHighDCat

Ok hear me out. Got a 3 year old half Siamese boy cat. He defends his territory and fights a lot... He is neutered.

Next door neighbour's recently got a male neutered boy cat who's 18 months old and his nemisis and a new monster Tom older too has come on the scene too.

These cats often come into my garden to find Felix (my cat) and have a go...

I'm wondering if I bought a small dog as a puppy and it lived with feiix that it could scare other cats away by barking and be a friend for Felix.

Am I mad? Could this work?

Get a dog because you want one not to be a guard dog for a cat that might not like it anyway!

I do want a dog anyway just wondered whether this would be a bonus as I know cats and dogs (my childhood dog and cat) got along really well. The cat came as a kitten when the dog was older.

Another reason I was thinking along the dog route was my neighbour who has a mini pinscher, dogs never come in her garden.

But appreciate the question was a bit stupid...
