She's 3 & is (eventually, when she stops hissing at him Hmm), going to be friends with Arthur. Her name was 'sophia' but we know a few of dc age so want to change it. Ideas welcome-don't know if it needs to sound anything like Sophia-doubt it matters as she won't be outside for a month yet so time to get used to her new name hopefully 🙂

She looks like an Arthur to me. I see you already have a cat called Arthur. Will it be a problem if they are both called Arthur?

SquitMcJit · 01/06/2017 22:28

Morgan ( Le Fay) 😸

Ooh great suggestions ta :). Pamela-ime cats don't seem to find it that distressing when their names are changed-they rarely care what they're called-we have a family whistle pattern for calling all the humans & animals so names are just for petting :).

May do the tried & tested method at the weekend of putting each on a piece of paper & seeing what she goes for!

Are they ok having their names changed like that? I meqn mine ignores hers all the time but by three would they know? She looks like a Queenie.

EachandEveryone · 01/06/2017 23:15

Ps you have a beautiful house!

disneykid · 01/06/2017 23:18

Such a cute cat!

I doubt it really matter what a cat's "official" name is really.

Leroy is Leroy, he was named before we had him and we didn't change it.

He's known as

Panfa, Ninja, StealthNinja, LardArse, Fatroy, Ro-Ro, Ro-RoBerry, Floofster, Whodamafoo, BabaBerry and Willyoushutthefuckupitsfiveam.

Generally he responds to the sound of a pouchie being opened, the sound his dishes make and the expression "Wanna go walkie?"

I suspect most cat owners have very similar experiences Grin.

(Still think OP's cat is an Effie though Wink.)

Looks like a Pauline to me.

Dora Winifred

(Arthur's little sister, DW)

She's very pretty and elegant. I think she needs a strong timeless pretty name.
Elizabeth
Josephine
Alexandra
Charlotte.
Frances.
Theresa
However with her being 3 years old. Will she not already know her name.

EachandEveryone · 02/06/2017 00:59

Thats what im not sure about. A dog would.

HemanOrSheRa · 02/06/2017 01:02

Hetty. She is gorgeous Smile.

buckeejit · 02/06/2017 20:01

Thanks all! Didn't know that about the peace lily 😮 assumed you were going to tell me off for it being neglected! She's not interested in it but is keen on playing with the bamboo.

I've had 3 yo + rescue cats that had names we couldn't put up with or that the sanctuary didn't know so have had happy name changed cats before. Will update tomorrow evening on the shortlist & name changing party-any excuse to make a night of things!
