Tiny Dumped Kitten

The downside of rural Italian life.

Another sod decides the local English soft touch is the place to dump an unwanted kitten. I went to the loo and heard screaming from the back garden. It's far too small to have climbed over itself. At least this time it isn't in a plastic bag.

(former) Tiny Dumped Kittens 1-8 have been living with me for between 13-5 years. I cannot do 9 cats. I am already enough of a cat slave.

My vet (also my mate), has already messaged me saying I can put up a poster in her studio. Again. But my past posters did not work. Anybody good at heartstrings tugging text and design that can help me create a poster that will maximise my chances of finding this tiny scrap a good home ?

Our one local cat charity is permemntly packed to the rafters and in the past they have been determinedly guilt tripping when I have taken them dumpees. Like I am the meanest person ever if I don't want to be utterly overrun by cats. So that is a non starter. If I go there I'll come away convinced I deserve to go to hell if I don't keep it.

I need a shit hot "good home wanted" poster.

And for tiny kitten to stop looking at me with big, mournful eyes. With added little fluffy tail.

And for DS to stop trying to name it. Doesn't even look like an Emma. Might not even be a girl.

NotEmma has at least escaped the "drowned in a bucket" fate of so many tiny unwanted kittens here. Can anybody help me capitalise on her "less than averagely awful" luck and maximise her/his chances of being somebody's spoiled moggy for 20 contended, spoiled rotten years ?

I will go and try and take a picture to help the creative juices flow. But NotEmma is quite scared and is under the duvet, curled into DSS's armpit. And my iPad does not have a flash.

Well done to your DS 0nline. I was concerned that he wasn't mounting an adequate 'PLEASECANWEKEEPTHEKITTENPLEASE' campaign and may have needed some advice on how to wear a parent down Grin.

We have multiple cat trees, and the cats are more or less interested in them depending on whim. Because they're cats. My favourite one is the Princess Castle, which we bought for Rufus (see photos). He loved it as a baby, and he loves it now he's FAR TOO BIG for it. (Also note paper/cushion defences under tv in baby photo which were destroyed within seconds of being noticed). I think Trevor deserves something regal too...

Rufus and SheIsn'tStaying are beautiful !

Really like the princess castle too. V. elegant.

MateVet returned from mountains early due to her kid forgetting he had a school trip today. She is not in the best of moods. But meeting Trevor cheered her up.

Trevor is now de-fleaed, de-ear mited, de-wormed, five weeks old, on the small side....... and a girl.

A girl called Trevor. Grin

I vote Trevor becomes the official MN cat, with at least thrice daily video updates.

On a slightly more practical, if yucky, note would it be worth getting a cat poo from one of your other cats and adding it so Trevor associates the litter tray with poo?never toilet trained a cat so don't really have much idea.

Well she just poohed in it. So she sort of half understands the system.

The pet shop will be open again tomorrow (most places close Sunday and Monday here) so with a proper litter tray and maybe a different kind of litter (with no "fun" newspaper lining) maybe she'll understand it isn't a toy. I can't half inch one of the other cats' litter trays. They will pee in the missing tray's spot. According to them if a tray was once there it is invisible rather than missing and still in active service despite no visible evidence to support hypothesis. #CatsLawOfTheLoo

Plus will buy lots of toys. Maybe she is bored and that is why she is playing in the litter tray ? She still seems to really like the shoelace, but variety can't hurt.

She won't drink her water either. MateVet gave me a shit ton of free samples of a high end kibble for posh kittens, She likes it loads (it's chicken and pomegranate .. quite fancy it myself) but she is supposed to drink a decent amount of water if she has dried food. And she won't even consider it. It's a big bowl, plenty of room to drink without damp whisker issues.

Trevor is a bit of a sod. A high needs kitten. With low personal hygiene standards. Headed for dehydration.

But she is v. cute. Like a live squeaky toy with attitude. MateVet and her colleague spend all day with fluffy things and even they said she was rather special. Never a known such a confident kitten. Mine have all been a bit shy, somewhat traumatised, or quite poorly on arrival. I'm more used to it taking a while before they are so relaxed with us and bouncing around everywhere like Zeberdee on speed.

Am a crap photographer, but videos I can do in massive numbers. Got loads DS won't let me post. There is a really cute one where she notices his hair, grabs a single golden ringlet .... and promptly terrorises the crap out of it. Plus another one where she treats him like a jungle gym, while he is sound asleep after training. Grin

Ohhh Pale Ginger Trevor is stunning. What an unusual colouring!

Apparently ginger cats are really rare over here (unlike tabbies). If PoorPersonalHygeneTrevor were that colour I'd be beating off home offers with a stick.

Small Trevor stuck out paw and touched Big Trevor. My baby is learning to use a touch screen.

I may go off this new skill. Touchscreen registers paw as finger. She'll be posting here on her own soon.

Yawning in progress. Hopefully she'll fall asleep in a minute and let me go downstairs for five minutes. Or to the loo. Either will do.

The cat tree you posted is fine for kitten, but they soon outgrow it.

If you have the space, and money, this would accomodate several cats.

Oh dear, I shan't take up sexing kittens as a second career! Well, the cutest kitten in Italy, aka Trevor, has most definitely fallen on her feet with you. But I don't think anyone who watched your videos really thought she would be leaving.Wink

Js Oh I like that one. I shall waggle Trevor under DH's nose lots before I share the price Grin

Green If it is any consolation MateVet had to peer a couple of times before pronouncing with confidence.

DH felt a nike box was an undignified toilet for Trevorina (This nickname has not been offically approved, he is just trying to Italianize her by stealth) so rather than wait for tomorrow for the pet shop to open, he drove to the big store he hates the most, the chain DIY place, and got her a nice, tasteful cream litter box and posh litter.
I think if against all odds somebody does come forward to give her a one cat home, he is going to be utterly gutted. Not seem him quite so smitten before. He usually complains for much longer when a new kitten gets dumped on us.

We have had a break through with Trevor's drinking problem. There's lots of sneezing, snuffling and being Very Surprised that water is wet... but Jove I think she's got it !

DD, DS, DH and I have all been cooing over Trevor's latest videos. Do please ask for this thread to be moved to The Litter Tray 0nline because your posts are too funny and Trevor is too gorgeous for it to disappear after 90 days.

Will do. Smile

Will be nice to look back and she how she grew and developed. Taking the sweeter moments of life and putting them somewhere where they can be resisted seems like a good plan today.

Yes indeed, 0nline, sometimes it's very comforting to remember the little joys in life like fuzzy, wobbly, blue-eyed kittens and the people who are kind to them.

If you did wan to get rid you could claim he is Bengal cross and charge a fortune - but I know you would not sell your latest baby.
