Can't beat Giardia

Posted previously about kitten from RSPCA being riddled with worms and giardia and kindly infecting ALL my other cats Angry
It will not budge.
She's had drontal for the worms (which seems to have worked) and multiple courses of Panacur and Metronidazole for the Giardia. It goes away for a couple of weeks and then returns. Kitten is by far the worst. Vet seems to be at a loss other than repeating the meds. Someone please help me!

Did you get this sorted?

Tinidazol and quinacrine can both be used for giardia in humans, bit don't know if licensed for cats?

Littlemissindependent · 23/08/2017 20:35

I certainly did! My bony germ infested little bag of bones is now a healthy happy kitten who to look at you'd never know had anything wrong with her!

How did you get rid of it?
My cats seem to keep re-infecting themselves :(
Any tips?

Hi, I’m the OP but namechanged. Yes I did eventually get it sorted with Panacur. It took a long time though and she can still have the odd day when she’s a bit dodgy, but overall she’s now healthy, happy and not doing poos that make me want to throw up!
