Hugging my hand in the hope of belly rubs

That's a lad that is angling for an afternoon snooze! Wink

hollinhurst84 · 11/03/2017 13:47

I should hope not, he only emerged from his pit at 1pm! Grin

Mumtobe12 · 11/03/2017 13:58

Not helping with the house work that's for sure keep getting under mu feet or climbing into bed linen I'm trying to put on. 2 little mischiefs but love my fur balls

cozietoesie · 11/03/2017 14:02

But he was just 'getting in training' then. Grin

hollinhurst84 · 11/03/2017 14:04

He's moved to come and blink at me Hmm

cozietoesie · 11/03/2017 14:08

Told you. He wants a cuddle-snooze. Smile

hollinhurst84 · 11/03/2017 14:11

Grin he ALWAYS wants cuddles. Preferably proper bone squeezing ones

We had a party last night. I expected the cats to leave in a huff and resurface some time today. No. Bastard Cat attended the party. He had a whale of a time. He was everywhere you looked; greeting guests, investigating gifts, sitting on people by the fire, jumping onto the bar. He spent a large part of the evening stalking the man with the tray of fishy canapes. He befriended a lady who kept feeding him little bits of cheese. He was a sparkling host with the most. Today he is absolutely shattered and has been comatose in the laundry room all day. He didn't even come and annoy us when there was butter chicken at lunch time. I've never seen a cat so shattered.

Sweet Cat was also at the party, but lurking at the edges and looking horrified, as is right and proper.

hollinhurst84 · 11/03/2017 14:18

😂😂😂😂 at sparkling host. Exhausted kitty must rest now after all that socialising

hollinhurst84 · 11/03/2017 14:33

Thanks to this thread I just tried a bird video on my phone and put it in front of Ollie
His ears perked up, he started doing the side to side shake and the next thing my phone went flying and my hands have class in as he tried to kill the bird. Thanks Mumsnet GrinGrinGrin

MsHooliesCardigan · 11/03/2017 16:18

Kiroro I'm not entirely sure. His is one of two cats that were living next door when we moved here 18 months ago and, from the day we moved in, he just adopted us. When his owner moved, she said we may as well keep him. She said he was a British Short Hair but I've googled and I don't think he is because he's semi long haired. He has a really squashed face like he's been hit with a frying pan. I'll post a picture of him later if I can coax him in to see if any cat experts can help.

QueenFuri · 11/03/2017 17:49

Furicat today has slept and watched the birds from the window. She's furious now because we have visitors she's not people cat.

Trustyourself2 · 11/03/2017 22:20

zeezeela he/she looks like he/she wants to have a serious word with you.

zeezeela · 11/03/2017 23:24

Trustyourself2 He was not happy that we were using his newspapers for putting our paint on. Therefore not spending time with him. First time I have contributed to the litter tray I have been a long time lurker :).

Trustyourself2 · 12/03/2017 00:02

Well zeezeela, I don't envy you having to engratiate yourselves. Some furry chaps can be very unforgiving. Maybe a few dreamies'll do the trick.

I've not been contributing to the litter tray very long either. It's a much needed therapy for us slaves.

I'm off to get some sleep now, if they'll allow me a slither of the queen size bed for the night.

cozietoesie · 12/03/2017 00:15

Trust

The story of my beds.

I had a single - the cat slept long and I got 6".
I had a double - the cat slept diagonally and I got 6".
I got a king size - the cat sleeps horizontally and I still have 6".

I'm now so conditioned that even when .I'm on my own, I perch on the outside 6" of whatever bed it may be. Grin

Papergirl1968 · 12/03/2017 00:21

My boy sleeps horizontally across bottom of the double bed. I cling to the edge. It's a cat thing...

HemanOrSheRa · 12/03/2017 00:26

Ah cozie you have my sympathy. I can add a little JRT into the mix. And various small children over the years. I'm very used to sleeping and gripping onto the edges of the mattress even when I don't need to Grin.

In fact we bought a very expensive wool mattress recently. Lots of space for everyone and every creature. Absolutely no Roll Together. I still curl up on the very edge of it. Gripping tightly to the stitched edge!

Trustyourself2 · 12/03/2017 00:30

cozietoesie chuckle. You learnt a valuable lesson - the more you give, the more they take & expect.

For years I've been trying to work out why we have these slave drivers in our lives and my only conclusion is that we must love being abused by cute furry creatures, who couldn't give a toss about anyone but themselves.

I am in my slither of bed now, but cannot stretch out as the old duffer is snoring where my feet should be.

The little shit catface work me up at 5. Demanding breakfast. How do I stop this?

Tonight I'm closing the bedroom door but I know she'll scratch and meow at it.

Sigh. Must put a stop to it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/03/2017 07:23

I think catface is actually a very determined character, it's her bad start that has subdued her true character.

She just might be a Maggie thatcher type in truth.

5am will be a normal get up time for you soon so go with it. Otherwise you'll be up and she'll be stealing your warm spot while flicking furry V signs at you.

ememem84 · 12/03/2017 08:05

I managed to ignore her pouncing me and her meowing and batting my face until 630.

I assume she thinks I've forgotten about her.

630 is fine as on work days I'm usually up at that point. I could just do without the 5am wake ups.

ThisThingCalledLove · 12/03/2017 09:06

I have an early riser cat too, which is fine when DH is here to dish up breakfast as he is also an early riser, not so fine when he's gone to work and she wants food at 5am as usual Angry

IIRC, I posted for advice on this at the time and the general advice was to get an automatic feeder. Sadly my cat is too dim to be able to cope with this, in fact every time she wants food, you have to pretend to put new stuff in her bowl. She is convinced when you wave your hand in its direction and starts eating the old stuff happily. Grin Other cats may be less stupid happier with an automatic feeder though?

Along similar lines, I have just watched my cat fall off the trampoline. From a stationary seated position. Last week she got stuck in the hedge and had to be untangled. The Dc are convinced she should have a channel (?) on social media and we will make a fortune....
