One in his favourite shoe box (why did I buy a cat bed?!) And the other on a dining room chair

Your cats are characters stumbly monkey Grin.
Here is my super alpha male Smoky showing us all who is boss.

dementedpixie · 01/04/2017 10:35

My two watching water coming out the shower hose in the bath. They were fascinated

Your two are wonderful fun and I'm very pleased that they're fine after their op. Smile

Is there really a big size difference between them or is that an optical illusion?

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/04/2017 10:53

Dog beds what you need pixie. No cat can resist a dog bed.

If you can stop the huge dog using the bed all the better. See YouTube for examples of huge mastif dogs lying on the hard floor while a teeny kitten uses their bed.

FannyFifer · 01/04/2017 11:05

Thanks Pixie, I've been doing that and he won't eat anything at all when mixed in. Good job I love the ginger gobshite.

Corpse no. 3 still hasn't come to light. I suppose I'll have to go looking for it, or I'll have a bedroom full of flies!

Weedsnseeds1 · 01/04/2017 11:20

I love the ears in the shoebox photo, is he a particular breed or does he just have very tufty ears?

ADisappearingDreamOfYesterday · 01/04/2017 11:39

Loving all the high maintenance cats here Grin

My cat is giving me big sad eyes. My parents gave her a huge box of food for Christmas...teeny little pouches of posh French food etc, there was so much it is just finished now! Of course now the cat finds her usual pre-Christmas Felix unsatisfactory and is letting me know...Hmm

ElizaDontlittle · 01/04/2017 11:48

They are just gorgeous pixie - I think I have kitten envy!!!

Weedsnseeds1 · 01/04/2017 12:38

I've never seen him eat a whole one, normally de-gloves them and leaves them on the landing. He had this one under the bed, but the body is missing.....

cozietoesie · 01/04/2017 12:44

Has he eaten any breakfast you gave him with quite his normal gusto today? Smile

HemanOrSheRa · 01/04/2017 12:51

He's looking very pleased with himself there Weeds. Are you sure he hasn't scoffed a mouse?! He is a gorgeous boy. Maybe you should look for parts rather than a whole body Confused. Pip isn't much of a hunter these days but would often leave tails and one awful day a birds HEAD on the doormat.

cozietoesie · 01/04/2017 13:02

Was anything left under the bed, Weeds?

Soubriquet · 01/04/2017 13:05

My cat caught her first big prey item on weds..and brought it in the house.

A bloody pigeon! Literally.

When it was disposed of, it managed to find its way to my back door again minus all of its flesh.

She's not so little anymore

Weedsnseeds1 · 01/04/2017 13:11

Couldn't find any evidence. He'd already had dinner and part of the first two mice, so I'd be surprised if he was hungry enough for the third one. Problem is he loses interest when the stop moving and goes to get another one that works. If he stashed them for later it would turn up, but he doesn't. He ate breakfast, no problem!

HemanOrSheRa · 01/04/2017 13:12

Yikes Sobriquet Shock. My old girl, Esme, once jumped in through the window with a rat in her mouth. Still alive. That was a fun Friday night.

My two are out on the rampage. I gave Frankie his first taste of catnip last night. He went insane! So funny, I wish I could upload the video DP took of him Grin.

Weedsnseeds1 · 01/04/2017 13:14

Mine doesn't really do birds soubriquet , thankfully. Just mice and the odd frog, but he doesn't kill those. Oh and a slow worm, which he didn't kill either.

Weedsnseeds1 · 01/04/2017 13:19

Catnip is great heman, this is the first cat I've had that showed any interest in it, so I get a great deal of pleasure out of drugging himWink

ElizaDontlittle · 01/04/2017 13:27

Mine doesn't go for catnip either. Or outside, thankfully - Sobriquet did you have to finish the pigeon off ?

She's curled up asleep looking like butter wouldn't melt after thundering about for a bit.

cozietoesie · 01/04/2017 13:29

The reason I asked is that I used to watch The Lodger from the old kitchen window. He didn't seem to care much for eating mice but he really did enjoy playing (!) with them. Then, one day, I started to notice a strange smell in the downstairs hall of this house........

Happy sniffing. Grin

HemanOrSheRa · 01/04/2017 13:29

I think I would faint if either of my two brought in a slow worm Blush. Not likely with Frankie though. He's not brought any gifts at all. Catnip is ace, isn't it Weeds?! He was going mad with the little stuffed mousey/bird toy then kind of zonking out, then back to attacking the toy and rolling all over the place Grin.

Weedsnseeds1 · 01/04/2017 13:46

It's been ditched somewhere cozie , just hope I find it before the maggots set in. No way it would have escaped alive, we don't call him the Black Death for nothing....

ADisappearingDreamOfYesterday · 01/04/2017 13:54

Ewww it's awful when they bring dead or half dead things in

DCat only does this at Christmas time for some reason. Once she left a dead robin on the doorstep on Christmas Eve, the first I knew of it was when DH opened the door and announced "the cat's killed Christmas"'Grin

One year she dragged an alive magpie in as we were all sitting eating Christmas dinner. That was...memorable.

She doesn't really do it at any other time of the year. Most odd. I seriously think that she believes she is bringing us a Christmas present.

dementedpixie · 01/04/2017 13:55

There is a marked size and weight difference between them. Think storm must have been the runt of the litter. Doesn't stop him starting fights though and he stands up for himself. He's the one that's been climbing up the trees too so have to watch closely in the garden. What age do you let them just get on with it outside?
