My baby kicks when the cats purr!

I have two gorgeous cats, who I simply adore. It seems the baby in my tummy is going to be an animal lover too as whenever they snuggle up next to me, or lie across my tummy purring, the baby kicks a lot! Has anyone else experienced this? I don't think the cats have realised there is a baby in there yet, but the baby seems to know all about them!

That sounds adorable!. The vibrations must travel through your abdomen.

Oh this was the same for me! DD loves the cat so much and he is very patient tho she can be rough! It's very cute.

Ah very sweet. I also think it must be the vibrations from the purring.
My DD is now 7 and she loves our cat to bits, cat loves being with her too. She goes in her room at bedtime, listend to book or will just sit if we're chatting then leaves when me or DP do.

Aw that's so cute! My girls also love the cat and she loves them. She follows them all over the house no matter how noisy they are and they give her dreamies "just for her being her". I think animals and children have a special bond x

I think purring is the coolest thing ever. It's such a relaxing sound. My cat was much more attentive when I was pregnant and used to sit with his paw on my bump and then jump back when baby kicked.

Bean same thing happened when I was pregnant with DD. Our lovely old girl cat would sleep cuddled up by my tummy at night (on top of the duvet though she would try to get under it.)
When the cat purred DD kicked & the more the cat purred the more DD would kick.
Also when DD was asleep in her room (with the door closed) our cat would lay down by the door as if she was guarding DD.
The cat also liked the playmat/gym more than DD did Smile.
