Some of you may remember me posting about our dear old girl passing away last year.
After 21+ years it's been really odd being cat free & we still have days when we get her dish out when we feed the dogs.
also have times when I think I've caught a glimpse of her out of the corner of my eye! Confused

I miss my kitty cwtches so much & I'm now ready to let another lovely feline friend into my heart.

Spent the past 2 days looking through rescue sites but all possible matches are so far away, not even any kittens or youngsters for sale in my area.
I'm wondering if it's worth ringing the rescues & asking if they take names.
Does anyone know if they do this?

Anyway watch this space as there WILL be a bundle of trouble very soon fingers crossed.Smile

You are right Vino!
I have read back through the thread & Chemenger did actually say she fosters.(Its been a few weeks since I started the thread Blush)

Initially we weren't sure we would be able to rescue because of our dogs, but all of the rescues we've spoken to have said introducing a kitten will be fine.
The opinion of introducing an older cat seems to vary with each organisation.

The CPL has said that I shouldn't worry about the home visit,it is quite informal & they have to see where we live, make sure we don't live on a main road, near train tracks etc.
After hearing how these kittens were kept I am glad they do home checks.

Watcher do post more pics when DKitten arrives! FWIW, we had our CPL home check in an almost empty house (we'd move from furnished to unfurnished) and it was totally fine. Can't say PuffinCat was massively impressed with all the flatpack furniture that arrived in the first few weeks she was with us, but she's still here so it can't have been all bad Smile.

WatcherOfTheNight · 08/03/2017 16:10

Puffin you were brave! I bet puffincat had a field day with all the boxes.

The kitty fosterer txt me last night, she is happy for us to visit the kittens soon ,hopefully we are going over the weekend
Will take pics!

GinAndTunic · 11/03/2017 12:27

What great news!

EachandEveryone · 11/03/2017 16:28

How gorgeous. Any names yet?

WatcherOfTheNight · 11/03/2017 22:57

Sorry all,I hadn't noticed these posts Blush
No names as yet,I think it might be a task to get us to agree.
Ds has been saying he wants a cat called coco & I did say to DH that Thelma & Louise sprang to mind when they were scraping & tearing around the room!

I'm so impatient,these 3 weeks won't go quick enough.

I will always regret not getting two last year. I feel like mines missing out. They are gorgeous.

GertyTheGert · 11/03/2017 23:12

BEYOND cute!!! Any chance you could take two kittens?!? I love the way kittens' fur is as soft as the softest feathers when they are ditsy/cutey size! If I had a house I would defo foster-care! >^^

GertyTheGert · 11/03/2017 23:24

Oh I am soooo glad you took two!!! They will be friends for life, comfort each other when they first miss their Mum and be a totes deeeelight !!!!!!!!! Bless !!! >^^

SuperFlyHigh · 11/03/2017 23:28

I was going to say 2 esp the 2 in the picture sound great!

I used to have a brother and sister (now dead RIP) who were friends when younger not more so as older.

WatcherOfTheNight · 12/03/2017 12:29

They are absolutely adorable, the photos really don't do them justice.

The kitten with the most white (nicknamed smudge at the moment ) was very interested in DH when we visited, sniffing him, attaching herself to his laces/ trousers etc,so when we found out she wasn't picked by the other couple DH didn't take much persuading Grin

The heart stealer mostly tabby kitten (nicknamed socks at the moment) played the whole time we were there, she allowed me a little snuggle but was far to interested in the excitement of new adventures!
They seem to be a good pairing fingers crossed & I really hope they stay that way.

I've started looking into kitten/cat food, obviously they will stay on what they are used to for a while but I know food for cats has come on a lot .
My dogs are on an 80/20 grain free or nutriment with more raw during the warmer months but nutriment only do older cat food I think.

My old girl wouldn't touch it,she became very fussy in her last few years.

SuperFly that is probably the only concern I have about 2 from the same litter.
We were so devastated when our old girl died & I think losing 2 close together would be awful.

There is only 3 months between our dogs too. That was unplanned though, DH is such a softy where animals are concerned,he turned up (as you do ! ) with him,he needed rehoming asap & because our Lab who was only 6 months at the time took to him straight away we kept him.
They've been inseparable since that day.

Mine was on Lily's kitten and thrived on it the good thing about two is at least you won't have any wastage

WatcherOfTheNight · 12/03/2017 15:49

I like the look of Lily's Each,I like ingredients I can recognise!
Do you use the wet & biscuits?
With our old cat she was mostly on wet foods as it was easier to eat, but she did like the one variety of Harrington biscuits now and again.
Whiskas etc made her sick, she liked highlife pouches & thrive, plus fish & bits of meat.
She didn't eat much so I decided at her time of life she was entitled to whatever she fancied tbh.

EachandEveryone · 12/03/2017 15:55

I use both but she prefers wet every compliments her coat it's often on offer if you use Ocado I buy it direct from them as well it's three for two at the moment

OP to be quite honest they tolerated each other and girl cat would groom boy cat (her brother) and they did stuff together like hunt etc.

To be quite honest she was very particular, you just need to give them places so they have their own space.

WatcherOfTheNight · 26/03/2017 21:49

THEY ARE HOME !!!

Sorry I have to shout as I'm beyond excited!!
We've not introduced them to their doggy brothers yet, they are in one of the bedrooms.
Introducing them will be at the kittens pace and they have settled in so well considering it's only been a few hours.

They are beautiful,my heart is well & truly stolen.Smile
