Cat missing since Tuesday

We went to work on Tuesday, came home and she's vanished. We've had her almost a year and she usually stays very close to home, just on the next door neighbour's fence or garden or onto the very next street, so always comes running straight back when she's whistled for.

We often have other cats in our garden but she is usually good at staring them off her territory.

We've done everything recommended, flyers, posters, FB, vets and microchip firm. Hoover contents and litter in garden. We've been out walking every few hours to whistle and call, day and night but there is no sign. We've got a good view of our neighbours gardens and no movement. I've also been round to look into some of the gardens. We've knocked on a few doors and have several neighbours keeping an eye out.

One neighbour is convinced she saw her yesterday at midday just on the next street - she should have known her way home from there so I'm so confused as to why she just won't come back to us. We went out straight away after this sighting but no sign, yet again.

It's awful, can't concentrate on anything, just feels like a black cloud of dread hanging over us.

Frances - realise how totally frustrating this must be for you, but on the positive side at least you have hope again that she is ok, and surely it's just a matter of time until you are re-united.😻

Wolfiefan · 25/01/2017 22:36

Hope she is about and comes home soon. Have you put litter tray outside? They can smell it apparently.

Just wanted to say I am thinking of you. My mum's cat, similar in habits/character to yours, went missing for nearly three weeks. We were beside ourselves. Then just as we were giving up hope, we had a phone call from a local vet. He'd been shut in a school (Xmas holiday time) and found by caretaker!

Please don't lose hope. Mine went missing for a year. He'd been taken in by somebody else (according to my vet) but finally came home of his own accord. Now never ventures far at all, and currently asleep upstairs ! Sending you Flowers, and hand holding.

Just checking in to see if you've had any further potential sightings? I'm rooting for you to get some good news

francis223 · 27/01/2017 20:47

I really appreciate all of the positive stories I really do.

I took a drive up to the street where the sightings have been and saw a ginger tabby looking cat - I saw her/him behind a car, stopped and got out and whistled and knew immediately that it wasn't her. It's made me think that all of the possible sightings have actually been this little one. So I'm back to square one with no leads, no hope and no idea what to do next apart from the wait.

In a weird turn of events, we had a little tortie turn up at our patio door last night, cold and wanting to come in. Further investigation led to identifying her home on the estate but you can imagine how we felt seeing her face at the door...

Please don't give up hope - keep calling and looking and flyering. I flyered miles away and got people calling me about random cats that weren't my cat. I put posters up in the sorting office, at the post office, in shops etc. and still nothing.

But 3 months' later, he turned up at a vet 12 miles away! No idea how he got there and he was very thin and had fleas but he was very, very pleased to come home again.

I do remember that feeling of sick dread when you don't know - it's awful :(

Fluffycloudland77 · 02/02/2017 06:48

Phew, that's such a relief. She must've been trapped in somewhere.

She must have a loud miaow to wake you at 5!

Vinorosso74 · 02/02/2017 07:31

Great news! Am sure you didn't mind being woken up at 5 to see her.

Reow · 02/02/2017 08:55

Hooray! I have been following this and keeping my fingers crossed for you. My ginger boy is missing :-( It's very unusual for him to miss any meals at all, and we saw a fox skulking around our driveway yesterday morning :-(

It's such a horrid feeling.

loaferloveforyou · 02/02/2017 09:00

Oh brilliant!! I bet you are so relieved! Any idea where she could have gone? If only cats could talk.....

Guiltypleasures001 · 02/02/2017 09:03
