if you have 2 cats how much per week does it cost to feed them?

Just wondering if I'm getting good value for money for our catfood - thanks to anyone who replies in advance!

I buy the 12kg bags of Royal Canin Persian from zooplus.(by far the cheapest place to get it) and it lasts about 3-4 months for both cats. It's about £40 a bag.

Are you just buying one bag? If so that's a good deal for 2 cats. I get pouches and biscuits for my cat (he's large though) and spend about £25 pm

Aahh - glad to hear that - re Zooplus toddlertea - as that's where I get our 10kg bag of James Wellbeloved dried cat food for under £40. Our male cat is super greedy and I wonder whether we are basically overfeeding him.

He makes it very hard to say 'no' sometimes ...

If both cats were like the female one, we'd be buying even less cat food

I have one cat she has 2 pouches per day either Whiskers or Felix - usually £3.50 per box per wk plus biscuits adds up to approx £5 per wk - £20 per month. My neighbour only gives her cat one pouch per day !!

Our two cats have 4 pouches of Sheba a day, plus biscuits (usually purina). I get the pouches from amazon or whenever they're on offer in the supermarket so it's around £11 for 48. Works out at £6.50 a week for wet food, dry food lasts months and is about £15 a bag.

It will vary a lot on the size of your cat, one of ours (female) is tiny, weighs just less than 3kg so doesn't eat much. The other one (male) is under 1 so still small but eats loads more already. All the foods will have a guide on to say how much you should give them according to their weight.

Neither of mine are big eaters. But the amounts recommended on the pack are tiny!

Mine only gets 80g a day of his food and he's huge! Dry food always looks stingy when you measure it out according to the instructions, so it's easy to over feed.

He's a moggie toddler , from a hoarding situation of 60 cats, so probably highly inbred! He's about 7Kg and very dog like in his personality. He's a sweetheart, but playing can be a bit brutal at times as he doesn't realise how strong he is.

We have four cats.

I buy the Whiskas pouches and get them delivered monthly. 2 pouches per day each so we have 2 boxes delivered at a cost of £32. Something like 184 pouches!!

We also have dry food delivered three monthly - 48kg of Purina which costs £45.

Can't do the maths as I'm hungover.

I just need to say, I love pictures of weeds cat so much. I bet it's not easy to get all of him in one photo!

I'm a bit unsure of buying 10kg bags, do they keep alright? I tried to look for containers but I can't figure out the kg to litres! New cats are much more into dry food than any I've had previously.

I also love zooplus. I like collecting points

Just spent £27 on 3 boxes of pouches for my two (2 whiskas and a feline fayre - they were on special offer at £9 each) so 120 pouches which never lasts as one of them is a greedy mare.

I also have Harringtons dried cat food - two 2kg bags for £11 (one salmon and one chicken) but that normally lasts them nearly 2 months as a little goes a long way and they don't waste a single kibble!

4 pouches a day each?! That is way too much food for an average cat. Ours have biscuits in the morning, pouch for tea and more biscuits for supper.

I have two cats and buy Harrington's every two months from Amazon at a cost of about £15 (or less, I can't remember right now) and they get a pouch each in the morning with a handful of the kibble in the morning. They get kibble in the evening. They do get the dishes refreshed if the dog has eaten anything they've left, but within reason. Usually, the dog only eats the cat food when there is no one else in the house. I buy Lidl's pouches, which are about £1.75 for 12 and the cats adore them. However, they don't like the Lidl's kibble, which is fair enough - they don't like Tesco's own either. And since they are 14 now, they are entitled to be a bit fussy.

I'm expecting a delivery from zooplus today. I've ordered Animonda Carny for my two in the hope that it will fill up my big boy cat. I usually feed Butchers Classic. I'm hoping that a better quality food will mean he eats less. He is a greedy pig and will eat a whole tin every day. Although to be fair, like Candle, I do think the dog occasionally snaffles a bit. But then, he eats my girl cats food if he gets the chance.

Too much. Old cat is super fussy and decides he hates the food I've got 4 pouches in to a big box. Me being too soppy I usually feel like I have to go buy something different.

One of mine costs about £10 a month to feed - a mix of pouches and dry food.

The other is a fussy bugger (and I am a soft touch!) so he costs me about £35 a month to feed. Which incidentally is more than my horse costs me to feed :)

Living. I had the same issue with kg- litres. So I bought the biggest container I could find. A curved one with cats on the side. And a green rim. Got it from Amazon but TK havevtyem from time to time. Fits almost all of a 12 kg bag in. I have a cereal box to dispense it in every feed.
