The litter tray

Kitten keeps pooing behind the TV grrrr - help

She's 16 weeks old. My other cats have never even had one accident. She has her own litter tray which she uses, but sometimes she will just poo by the TV. She keeps getting it all over wires and I've had to throw some away.q

I've tried putting foil down which doesn't work. I've tried shutting her out of the living room. I really don't want her doing this forever!

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks for your advice. I will order another cat tree!

I'd suggest using an enzyme based cleaner like Simple Solutions that's specifically designed to deal with cat poo to lift the smell. I'd also try offering another hooded tray in a different spot. She may find her open one too exposed and/or not like where it is positioned

She's 16 weeks, so on the brink of puberty, unless she's been neutered already? If she's still intact, this behaviour might be down to her asserting her 'dominance' over the other (presumably) neutered cats in the household?

Good point, Rubbish. What's the gender mix? More than one girl might need more of the prime spots than a house with just one girl. Neutering should help a bit.

Yes our other two cats have been neutered. The mix is two girls and a boy. The other girl never gets involved in any disputes but if kitten is asleep on the cat tree our boy will get up there and start washing / tapping her until she gets off. If that doesn't work he just sits on top of her - poor thing! I've noticed that she does get cross about this so I think this is likely to be the reason. Our boy is very swaggery, even having been neutered so I thought another girl would be better than more male hormones into the mix.
