Saying goodbye to my lovely girl in the morning.

My 21 year old furball is going to sleep tomorrow. I honestly didn't think I would be this upset. She's had a long, long life and is so poorly & hasn't eaten for 3 days. She lives with my Dad so I'm going with him in the morning to say goodbye. She's been my little girl since I was 11, and she was just a little scruffy furball.

Suppose I just needed to tell someone. She is so tired and although I'm devastated, I'm so glad she will be at peace and sleeping soon.

I'm so sorry. It's only natural you are upset, what a wonderful long life she's had with you.

Please know that you are doing absolutely the right thing, the last, kindest thing you can do for her.

I'm so sorry, Unsuccessfully It's really hard, I know, but she has had a good and long life with people who love her.

Thank you so much. Spent tonight with her. Bought her a flake (her favourite) and some turkey treats, as she won't get a Xmas dinner this year. She didn't want any treats - most unlike her. Reaffirmed that we've made the right choice. She's got such a fun personality though, and I worry for my Dad once she's sleeping.

And myself. Who knew it would be this hard! Going to miss that little ragamuffin bundle of fur

So sorry she must have been so well cared for and loved, take comfort from that, its only natural that you feel devastated. Take time to grieve for your lovely girl ((((hugs))))

So sorry to hear this, it's always so hard to say goodbye even when they've had a long, long life. 21 years is amazing, mine were mere youngsters at 18 when I had to say goodbye to them

I said goodbye to my furboy last year and I was heartbroken, still am really. It was awful but he had cancer and it was the right thing to do so he didn't suffer.

Thank you all. My little girl is sleeping now. She went beautifully, and was so peaceful it turned the tears into smiles. Wine has been consumed in her memory.
