What is the best food to buy from the supermarket?

She's six months old and I only buy the expensive stuff off Zooplus. I sometimes get caught out with deliveries and money TBH! It I go to a supermarket what's the best one to buy? and at nearly six months is it the end of the world is she has adult food? She's nearly three kilos. HiLife tempt me looks like it contains over 59% neat but I don't know if it's grain free.

Ps this is a wet food issue if she would take dry food my prayers would be answered sadly she's not that interested in dry

Butchers Classic tins. Cheap, grain free and vet-recommended.

The Aldi premium pouches go down well here. It's grain free.

Don't have an Aldi and I've never seen butchers choice I have looked for it is there any particular supermarket I can find it in? And should I still be keeping her in kitten food for a year?

Mine have asda tins in any flavour. 2 x neutered male brothers aged 4 and a half. Never been to the vets except for their jabs. They have lovely glossy coats and sparkly teeth!! Asda dried complete now and again. And they also eat vegetables we have left over from our evening meal about twice a week!!

Can you get to a Pets at Home? They have some ok stuff in there. Mine loves his Zooplus posh stuff too. It's good that yours doesn't like biscuits.

Mine has the Purina gourmet pouches that one in a blueish box. I bloody resent buying it to be honest, it's often amongst the most expensive and 9 times out of 10 he leaves all the actual meat and just eats the jelly or gravy. I've tried so many other brands and he just isn't interested. He's old now though so we try not to mess him around d too much. Oh and he loves the new cat soup things.

I feel awful the way I change mine around I get bored of it myself it's always the push stuff though but I do need donethibg to fall back on. She was having encore fish to fall back on but it's not complete. Someone told me they shouldn't have too much fish anyway. She likes Lily's but again it means finding a posh supermarket. I just want to enable to nip into morrissons after work!

Just looked to see what Morrisons sell and I think the best ones are their own brand Tastes So Good pâté, Butchers Classic and Encore (but as you say it's not complete). Surprised they don't stock Lily's, I'm sure the other supermarkets have it. I think adult food is fine at this age.
What do you buy from Zooplus? Mine loves Catz Fine Food.

Oh she loves Animonda which makes me boak u can practically see the hearts in it, also nature, Shesir kitten and Cosmo exotic Thai for a treat! Tescos finest fish is complete but I'm trying not to give her fish everyday. I'm glad the adult food will be ok now as it's bigger might not get through three tins a day!

I've got so much expensive dry food does anyone know if it can be donated anywhere?

Mine has the HiLife tempt me stuff. It's complete and high meat. Coming out of the pouch it looks recognisable as real food too. I buy it on amazon and it works out pretty good value IMO. She also gets a pouch every couple of days or so of whatever is on offer in pets at home. I don't want her to start refusing other foods in case the hi life gets discontinued or goes up massively in price.

I have to say after looking at Ocado the Hilife at £4 for 8 pouches works out to be about the same price as the stuff on Zooplus.

Yes I meant to add HiLife is also a good option. Animonda kangaroo is a big hit here. If your dry food is unopened you can donate to a charity or one of those collection boxes in a supermarket. Or maybe a food bank? If it's open I think you'll have to find a cat lady.

Yes I need a cat lady. It's a massive bag of canin kitten dry. I think I'll buy hilife when I get caught out otherwise I'll stick to zooplus financially it's the same. I wish she would eat at least abit of dry those tins of kitten. Food are tiny.

I pay just over £11 for 32 pouches on amazon.

Ah it was the kitten one I saw on Amazon was £25

Sorry it's £15 same price as Ocado £3.99 a box I might order a couple with my shop Lily's is £1 a small tray so double the price.

Butchers Classic is for sale in my Morrisons, Asda, Sainsbury and Tesco. (It's Classic, not Choice. Choice is for dogs).

I read the other day that Butchers is apparently not as good as we thought, not sure why as I lost the article before I had finished reading it. Would be OK as part of a rotation though.

HiLife is the one I would choose if it has to be a supermarket but if you have garden centre with a pet section you can sometimes find Natures Menu.

Wainwright's has been on offer in Pets at Home lately. That seems pretty good. I'm new to all this though, so happy to be told of anything better.

We were given a sample of some cat soups in Tesco the other day. Ozzy went absolutely mad for them. I don't think they were complete but they'd tide you over till your order came.

Mine go mental for the gourmet cat soup, cakes. you're right, it's not complete, but is a good way of getting water into a cat not keen on drinking. I add water into the empty pouch and give it a swish, and add that into it. Tesco do multi packs (cheaper), and at the moment Sainsburys are selling individual pouches for 50p, instead of the extortionate 80p they usually charge.

After an initial loving of Butchers Classic, they've gone off it, so I think I'll be putting in an order for Animonda Carny next time I order from Zooplus.

Mine poo-pooed Wainwrights. He won't have anything with pork in, I think he must be religious. Have had some success with Nature's Menu though.

Yes I've ordered a load of Lily's as it is reduced on Ocado she does enjoy it but at £1 a time it's not cheap but I guess average. I will get some animonda off zooplus as well she does like the great big chunks now and again. I makes me heave.
