flea spraying the house. Do I spray books on he bookcase?!

I'm confused about where to actually spray. Do I need to do the bottom shelves of he bookcase? And he books? What about beds?

I found that doing all carpets dealt with it so under beds, all nooks & crannies, they won't stay long on a bookshelf, they mostly are in carpets & on the pets, are you treating the pets too?

Yeah, he cats have had stronghold.

Did you do it daily? I'm spraying with Stay kill and it says that it lasts 12 months, but also to do it daily

You need to break the life cycle of the fleas. The spray only works on fleas but doesn't work on fleas in pupae waiting to hatch. (I think).

Heat and vibration can make them hatch eg from a passing human, Hoover etc. Technically they should then be killed off by the spray you've already sprayed or by your treated cat.

What I did was Hoover like a mad thing, moving as much furniture as possible. Then spraying, close the door, come back later and ventilate. I did every second day for a couple of weeks but I was quite hysterical about the whole thing.

I sprayed round edges and then a big cross shape in the middle of the floor.

If you have wooden floors then check in the grooves under furniture as I found pupae under the sofa. Yuk. I wiped them up with baby wipes and put them straight into an old jam jar with lid. Horrid as the little blighter would hatch.

I used RIP Fleas and Indorex - buy online as much cheaper than from the vets.

Oh and I also threw out a rug and washed all soft furnishings like cushion covers. Also washed all cuddly toys that were on DD's bedroom floor.

Ugh, I have to vacuum again after it has dryer. Such a massive pain for the bits under the bed, which I can only get to in sections.

I've just moved all the cuddly toys off he bed and was thinking I should wash them. There are so, so many though.

I realise I was probably OTT but it did work.

I also have an allergic reaction to bites so I was miserable too.

It's a real pain and I admit I cried as I felt overwhelmed by the whole thing.

Maybe bag up some cuddlies in a bin bag and spray into the bag? Or bag up and put into freezer?

I tend to do carpets/floor cracks and things like soft furnishings which I can't wash. I've never, I'll confess, touched books. (Given how many I have..........)

Remember, sprays like Indorex last for - 12 months is it? I'm not sure there's a need to do books. Fleas will go down to ground level in my experience.

I think I'm going to leave the toys and maybe revisit if there are any more outbreaks.

My infestation was really bad as I didn't realise it early enough. Cat was regularly fleaed with a vet product and the bites I was getting I thought were mossie bites from neighbour's pond.

I think what you're doing sounds good. I did spray a bit more but only on carpeted areas and just a big x-shape on the largest carpet areas upstairs. (I was totally freaking out though).

If you have anything like muslins, you could spray one and put it on the floor as fleas are attracted to white and yellow colours especially.
