DCat been hit by car.....but seems ok?

We didn't see it but a witness came to the door where DCat had run to to let us know. DCat shot in the house. She's obviously jumpy but she's not limping, I've gently checked all her limbs and she is not calling out in pain, she has no sign of bleeding, all her eyes, ears and mouth look entirely normal. She seems exactly herself just a little anxious obviously

Anyone any advice? It has just happened.

Get her check out by a vet. She may have not made impact but I'd be concerned enough to take her in

StopLaughingDrRoss · 22/06/2016 18:44

Yup - definitely get her checked over, poor little thing!

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/06/2016 18:53

Vet soon as you can.

Hopelass · 22/06/2016 18:55

Thanks guys. Thought so, have called the vets and will take her down now.

Good luck. Fingers crossed that she escaped by a whisker.

drinkyourmilk · 22/06/2016 20:08

Hope everything worked out well. It's easy to forget how vulnerable cats can be.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 22/06/2016 20:32

I hope it went well at the vets

Hopelass · 22/06/2016 20:38

It seems she has escaped by a whisker and lost one of her nine lives but is otherwise fine. Vet couldn't find anything to be concerned about
; they checked her all over including her paws which I believe can be damaged in collisions but there isn't a mark on her. She is tired though and now curled up in her bed. DP and I keep checking her and I think she's getting a bit annoyed at being woken up now! Smile she was a house cat for 4 years before we moved into a much quieter area 6 months ago but I think from now on she won't be allowed out of the back garden which at least is quite large. I don't want to risk it again. Thanks for the advice all Flowers

Here are a couple of pics. The first you can barely tell front leg from ear from nose because she's half upside down with her paw over her face in her bed but this is her now and she's purring. The second pic was earlier when we first got back from the vets.

I'm so glad she's OK. She's a gorgeous cat

Hopelass · 22/06/2016 20:51

Thanks pink. She is and she knows it. She's only 5 so we hope to have her for quite a few more years yet!!

A beautiful girl. Her being tired is no surprise - think of humans. When you have a near incident you experience an amazing adrenalin etc rush and when that recedes, you can feel quite tired and weak. She's likely the same.

Glad she's OK. Smile

FoxesOnSocks · 22/06/2016 20:53

Ah good!!!

Utterly gorgeous. Beautiful black cat.

Hopelass · 22/06/2016 20:59

Phew. You must be so relieved. Flowers. Hopefully she'll avoid the road from now on!

pilates · 23/06/2016 08:47

Glad you got her checked out and she is ok Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 23/06/2016 08:49

That is one lucky cat you've got there.

Hopelass · 23/06/2016 14:26

Thanks all, she's fine today. I'm even wondering whether she was hit at all and whether the woman who witnessed it saw the car stop and DCat run out from behind it...... Either way we're very glad she's ok and safe at home. We'll cat proof the garden I think and make sure she can't get out onto the road from now on, she hasn't got the sense to stay safe!
