my darling cat is dead upstairs

It's just such a shock - my parter just went up to bed and came down to say I don't think Ozzie looks too good. I went upstairs and he was just lying there - still warm but lifeless - he must have had a heart attack. I'm shocked and devastated. He's 10 yrs old. My daughter is going to be devastated in the morning. I don't know what to do with myself. My darling boy

I'm so sorry about your beautiful cat Flowers What a lovely place to bury him.

2 of ours have died within the last 6 months, they are buried in our garden, it is absolutely devastating Sad

I'm glad your daughter seems ok, my children have coped well, kids just seem to get on with things.

RIP Ozzie. Beautiful boy.

DS2 saw BastardCat when we buried him. He gave him a little pat on the head. I think it helped him understand.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/05/2016 20:23

He was beautiful, I'm so sorry. I think you've dealt with it brilliantly.

RIP Ozzie Flowers

MyCatWasRightAboutYou · 19/05/2016 23:20

I'm so sorry for your loss. Flowers He's a beautiful cat. He's obviously loved very much and no doubt he knows.

RoosterCogburn · 20/05/2016 18:07

I'm so sorry - what a gorgeous boy he was.

cozietoesie · 21/05/2016 16:12

How are you doing today?

Jitterybug · 21/05/2016 16:21

So sorry about your lovely boy, although a shock, I'm glad you didn't have to see him poorly.

I lost my beloved cat 2 years ago, he is still missed but I can remember him fondly and happily now. The early weeks were hard but got easier as time went on.

What a lovely send off.
RIP Ozzie Flowers

obsessedlex · 21/05/2016 21:09

It feels so lonely without him, the thud as he jumps off something upstairs the chatter, the meowing to call me to bed - even though we have two dogs somehow the lack of a cat is deafening. It wasn't his time to go it was too soon and it's not fair xxx

So sorry for your loss Flowers

cozietoesie · 21/05/2016 21:48

They leave a huge hole in your life, don't they?

TroysMammy · 21/05/2016 23:27

Obsessedlex, that is what I miss, the thud when he heard me come in from work and me saying "Mammy's home". Troy also told me when it was time for bed, 10pm when BBC news started. He would come downstairs at 9.50pm and sit looking at me and as soon as I said "is it time for bed?" He would meow loudly and get excited as I got up from the settee and rush upstairs.

I agree it's not fair, Troy was nearly 6. I would have loved to have him for longer but it wasn't to be. He was very much loved. He adored me and I was his Mammy. Hugs to you and your family.

💐 So sorry For your loss.

Threetoedsloth · 22/05/2016 06:09

We've lost two boys at 9 and 12 respectively, in exactly this way. There one moment , gone the next. The shock is quite dreadful and my heart goes out to you. RIP Ozzie.

Rollypoly100 · 22/05/2016 09:45

We planted a lovely Ena Harkness rose for our boy Finn. It's so quiet without him as he was a talker and used to love sleeping on my bed.

Big hug to all who've recently lost a beloved furry. Flowers

Iknownuffink · 22/05/2016 12:07

So sorry for your loss.

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 22/05/2016 18:59

It takes time, doesn't it? I am desperate for one or both of the Ginges to sleep on our bed because BastardCat used to. I miss the weight on my feet (or more often my shoulders!)

RoosterCogburn · 22/05/2016 19:20

YouAreAll - my beloved white cat used to sleep on my shoulders or hip, he'd wait for me while I was brushing my teeth and then as soon as I got into bed and settle he'd leap up. We were so in sync I could turn over and he wouldn't move or fall off - for months after he died I couldn't sleep properly.

About a month ago I had settled down in bed and I felt his successor settling on my hip (we've had her nearly 3 years and she has never done it before) she's a tiny little thing (he was a hefty lump) and I could hardly feel her but it brought a tear to my eye.

Since then she has joined me on the bed most evenings

obsessedlex · 22/05/2016 21:23

Oh Rooster that's so sweet - What lovely sensitive Gingers. I know what you mean about being in tune with them - Ozzie was the same - he'd call me to bed and then wait until I'd turned the lights off. And then settle down on my hip - he'd really rather be on my tum but since being pg it was more comfy on my hip!! Feels so strange now xx
