We have an almost 3 year old boy cat. DSis's cat had kittens a couple of months ago and today I brought one home. He's bloody gorgeous! However, DH not happy and hasn't spoken to me since he came home. Will he come round???? I hope so.

Math that reminded me of when I found out DH had assigned me a photo as a contact on his phone - of a tiny sleeping kitten. This is the tattooed tall bloke who scares people in Waitrose who professes to hate cats...GrinThey all come over to the dark side eventually!

RedOnHerHedd · 11/05/2016 09:07

Blacksheep that's hilarious!!!!
Well, this morning DH was playing with the kitten under the duvet. He's smitten with the kitten Wink

My DH was another cat hater who has come over to the darkside, he spends as much time coo-ing over our two as i do (not that they let him for long, he's only acceptable company when i'm not there, lol)

i just think people who've never actually owned one, just don't get it.

Lancelottie · 11/05/2016 09:49

Mumsnet is entirely consistent. Getting a surprise puppy is grounds for divorce. Getting a kitten is fine!

MaddyHatter · 11/05/2016 09:54

exactly, Dogs are a much more time intense commitment than Cats.. i love my moms dog to bits, but he's a nutcase, i'd take both my cats over the level of input that crazy canine requires any day!

RedOnHerHedd · 11/05/2016 10:12

DH has never been a cat hater, just a "one's enough" sort of man. He was the same with the DCs, only wanted the one, but we had two. So two cats has just evened everything up.

Cats just need to to provide food and water daily, a clean litter tray and a lap to curl up on. Dogs are far more needy. Cats just do their own thing.

And if you're not at home, a cat will sleep, a dog gets separation anxiety.

Oh Redd, what a gorgeous creature!

middlings · 11/05/2016 10:25

Derailing....

Red where did you get your laundry basket? I really like it.

And that photo of Apex on his back staring at the camera is ridiculously cute.

RattieOfCatan · 11/05/2016 12:31

Oh my goodness that is one gorgeous cat! I love ginger cats!

LowDudgeon · 11/05/2016 13:07

My DH has said no 3 times - we've got 4. He really likes the one that hates the other 3 & tolerates the others

That kitten is just ridiculously cute. Can he be the official Mumsnet Kitten? Pleeeease? His cuteness is too much to be contained in one household.

RedOnHerHedd · 11/05/2016 15:22

Middlings that laundry basket is on its last legs, can't remember where we got it from but it's gotta be coming up 12 years old now because we bought it when we bought our house. I've been looking for one similar to replace it, it's handy having a lights and darks bag, already separated.

He's so very cute!!! I've done pretty much the same...DH said no to kittens, then I said we'd get one.....we are getting 3. One just like yours!!! They will be ready to come home in 2 weeks and I can't wait.

KitKat1985 · 11/05/2016 16:35

A bit off topic but when I was very little my mum bought home a black kitten called 'Lucky' which my dad never wanted. My dad wasn't really a cat person and wasn't happy at all when Lucky came to live with us. Oddly Lucky was impervious to this and was obsessed with my dad. He used to follow him around the house and sit with him for hours in the garage when my dad was in there working. Then Lucky used to follow my dad whenever he left the house, and on more than one occasion Lucky went for a car ride when he snuck into the back of my dad's car when he went out. My dad used to be a very much a 'stiff upper lip' type and I never saw him cry, but he was literally sobbing the day Lucky was put to sleep at the age of nearly 18, having been my dad's shadow for the best part of two decades. Sad

KitKat1985 · 11/05/2016 16:36

Oh and Apex is gorgeous. I'm glad your DH has come around. Smile

YoureAllABunchOfBastards · 11/05/2016 18:21
