We have an almost 3 year old boy cat. DSis's cat had kittens a couple of months ago and today I brought one home. He's bloody gorgeous! However, DH not happy and hasn't spoken to me since he came home. Will he come round???? I hope so.

STOP THIS NOW.

DD is mildly allergic to cats so when the last one died we have not replaced her.

I used to have a ginger tom just like yours. He was poisoned at one year old.

How long will it be till she leaves home Exit? Wink

Your poor boy though 😿

Awww no! Exit that's awful!! Everyone seems to be quite cat-loving around here, but DCat is a house cat and DKitten will be as well.

When I saw this thread in Discussions of the Day I just knew you had all come here to tell me how cute I am.

Dh didn't want a puppy. I looked for puppies. I saw a puppy for sale. Showed him the picture and said'please bring me home, please wuv me.' He's now really glad we have the puppy. He'll come round to the idea as Apex is cute, cute, cute.
lljkk previous cats died at 8, 8 and 16. I wish they did live to 20, although tbh they'd have hated they puppy!

1-5 lovely, 6 onwards not so much Grin

Your kitten is adorable. Glad your DH seems to be coming round. I had 2 stray kittens wander into my house one evening (had obvs come in earlier while back door was open). OH arrived home from abroad and reacted so badly, acted like I'd done it on purpose, behaved like the little black one had been sent by Satan. Was really, really disappointed with his behaviour.

Luckily, my NDN decided to adopt them (she already had 4, a mum and 3 kitten, who were about 2 by that time).

MY DD (16) would adore a cat and I would love to adopt an older pair but doesn't look like it will ever happen Sad

Awww, he's adorable!

I'd love to get a second cat but my ruler 10 yr old cat won't accept any other cats. Originally I had her and her sister, sadly her sister was run over when she was 2 :( Horribly sad but PocketCat then transformed from a surly, aggressive cat to a happy and loving person-focused cat. Some cats just aren't meant to share I guess.

DD will be going to Uni (hopefully) in 2 years.

She would love a cat, I just can't take the risk, or put up with DH's slapped arse face.

My ginger tom was the friendliest and loveliest cat I have ever had. I used to wear him like a scarf.

This is Isla. She is a three legged ginge. (females are very rare only about 2-3 percent are!!) She was brought into DP's daughter (vet) with her leg in a rat trap. DP and younger daughter ended up bringing her home and MINUTE helped choose her name!! She had been there ten days (semi feral) when she escaped for ten days in the coldest part of Feb this year. She was caught two doors away in a humane trap. My Mum says she now has seven lives!! Grin

What a gorgeous little creature. I'm sure your DH will be devoted to him before long. A couple of years ago I found a tiny kitten under my car bonnet (long story...) Anyway my DH was very unimpressed - we had 2 preschoolers plus 2 ill & very old cats at the time so a kitten was really not on the to-do list. He was adamant that we were only keeping the kitten safe until a rescue had a space for it. However I then caught him playing peekaboo with kitten + sheet of newspaper, and the rest is history. The great lump (cat not DH) is mine really but does adore lying on DH's lap and covering him in white cat hair Grin

My dh said we're not getting another kitten when my geriatric cat is no more. Yeah right we'll see about that..... He keeps buying bloody vintage tents
Well he will have somewhere to live then.

DH didn't like cats. He didn't countenance having one in the house. When we were about to go through round two of IVF he relented and thought that we could get one. He hadn't owned a cat before and asked 'where will she sleep'? Oh his feet it seems. He worships her - funny for someone who doesn't like cats.......

Awwwww. I'm glad your dh has softened. My dad was never openly a cat person when I was growing up. But we did have at least one soft lump wend his way into dad's hearts. Even he was upset when the ones he did get attached to died. He hasn't yet met minikitten. But it won't be long. I think he's keeping mum away in case she goes all gooey over ours.

I know a cat very much up herself indulged who would just loooooove to have a little kitten around to show the ropes strings to.

When I was a girl we had a cat whom dad professed to loathe. One day we found a series of little doodles he had done at a boring meeting he had been at, featuring very cute cats with friendly expressions, cats curled up sleeping, cats lapping milk. We knew he had come over from the dark side.
