Very fussy cat won't eat good quality wet foods

My cat has just turned her nose up at Natures menu country hunter. Any that have the consistency of pate she just won't touch. It has to look like pieces in gravy. So the only one she will eat is Science Hills wet food pouches - this isn't too bad. The chicken one is apparently 30% meat.

Is there any way to address this?

Following. Mine will only eat non-fish whiskas varieties, chunks in jelly.

We give our cats lightly cooked fresh turkey. They don't like chicken or pork. There is fabulous cat food by James Wellbeloved. The only healthy dried and pouch catfood that you can get IMO.

Mine will only eat whiskas meat in gravy - the chunks have to be the right size and it has to be gravy, no jelly, it's like crack cocaine. She has these and Purini neutered cat dry food as well.

Mine wont eat people food, no chicken, fish, etc what can you do?

Try turkey OneMagnum All ours like it. They like the sugar in the 'normal' food, so you have to introduce 'proper' food like turkey slowly.

Well I thought that Seniorboy was irrevocably wedded to Felix AGAIL Doubly Delicious meat flavours but he's now been switched to Country Hunter after some 4 years on the other. (And seems to like it - at any rate, the plates are emptied.)

How are you giving it to her - and are you varying the flavours?

I'm glad it's not just us. She will eat AATU dry food and Applaws dry food which are both dry meat content. She won't even eat real meat any more. I'm at a loss!

They like it raw too ,it comes in mouse sized pieces (or you can cut up in those sizes) which really gets to them

Mine only eats Felix and Brekkies)(and those whiskas cheesy treats) so that's all I buy for him. He's happy, I'm happy - why make life complicated??

Mine change their mind all the time. Its like having 3 children in the house - you an never be quite sure what they'll decide to eat.

I've tried mine on all sorts. They will eat a mid range dried food but only like Felix and Sheba.

Yes, I never ever buy big bags of anything - I've just given away a load of food on my local Facebook page.

I don't like buying supermarket stuff because it's 4% meat and full of stuff which isn't very nutritious. The packaging on any pet food can be misleading IMO.

Our kitten eats anything (but then so did she at his age). I've been looking at the zooplus stuff amd they have lots of great quality wet cat foods with high meat quantity. But I just know girl cat won't touch it if it has the consistency of pate. I'm sure the kitten will eat it but she won't. She also likes those HiLife shredded chicken and ham pouches but they aren't a complete food.

I switched over the course of about two days by just putting the bowl next to the Felix and hanging ( fairly) tough about it. There was a little wastage of food initially although not now. (Although I have a few boxes of Felix in the cupboard that will need to go somewhere. That'll teach me to buy in advance. )

I've found that you have to mash it up a little to form a nice 'central heap' in the bowl and that it's imperative to change the flavour with every meal. I can obtain 4 flavours so that makes 5 meals in effect.

He seems to drink a little more on this food. (Not surprising, I suppose, given the proportion of Felix that was water.)

ppeatfruit she is just not interested at all. the only thing that isn't cat food that she has ever eaten was porridge which she used to steal as a kitten, she shows no interest in cooking smells, doesn't go on the worktops or anything, having grown up with a cat that was mad on crisps and oranges I find this all very unusual! :o She is 7 though so unlikely to change I don't think.

DH had a lovely dead mouse in his trainer yesterday - he was chuffed.

I always mash it up but she just sniffs it and walks off

Goodness. 7 is a young cat!

She seems so much older....:o probably because we'd quite like another but she is extremely intolerant of other cats, we thought she might mellow but it's not happening yet.

Liking crisps is one thing but liking oranges? That's plain weird.

So my two get a mix of wet and dry. They like James Wellbeloved dry, hate the wet. Like pp were refuseniks of anything other than Felix 'as good as it looks'; wasted a lot of money trying other things. I admit I did not really persevere with any, as they were eating dry so I'd just try a sample of wet and if they ignored it, cross it off the list.
But they LOVED Applaws cans from day one, in particular the fish ones. It's expensive so they share a can each a day, alongside the dry.

(One of them is also partial to raw broccoli )

She is just worried about your household budget.

OneMagnum Our house cat is a mean 12 year old We bought her to Frnce when she was one yr old and, sorry, she has remained mean ! We love her though,. She hates the strays we feed and one is sooo cuddly with humans, he baits our cat so we don't let him stay in the house.

Her life in Fr. has consisted of attacking strays through windows! Catching mice indoors (she's done well there). She's minus a back leg now so we spend a lot on her diet keeping her healthy!
