We have a 6 month old kitten who eats Whiskkas dry kitten food. The food is down all the time and she self regulates. The problem is I also have a 5 year old cat who has also always had free access to dry food and sself regulates. Neither is greedy and just eats what they need the problem is 5 year old cat has decided kitten food is tastier than normal food and due to the higher protein content is piling on the weight!!! Would it be Ok to feed them both normal adult cat food?

I have the same problem,
I have a 11 year old and an 8 month old. For a while I bought kitten food and senior food but they just ate each other's
So now I just buy adult food, they both seem fine Smile

If only they would just do as they are told Grin i think when they get through this bag of food I will just get normal adult food. Thanks

My vet said to switch to adult food as soon as our girls were neutered.

I had the same problem. The big cats ate the kitten food so I just fed them all adult food. When they went for a vet check up all the kittens were the correct weight and size for their ages and fighting fit.

i've had to do the same thing for the same reasons, lol.

kitten is 7mo now, i've been doing it the last 2 months with no issues!

the Tubbytabby quickly dropped the extra porkage though ;)

Reassuring to hear II'm not the only one that ended up with a fat cat. After she's been spayed ill put them both on normal food. Thanks.

MCat took a liking to Little Monsieur's kitten food, and me being a soft touch, he got a bit "pleasingly plump". Since I switched to adult food, he's at his proper weight again.
