Cat constantly being sick on Iams - hunting or should I change his food?

I'm fed up of clearing up small piles of part digested Iams. My cat is a fierce hunter and occasionally eats something that disagrees with him; this seems to set up a cycle of chucking up, being starving so gobbling food.... It's been particularly bad lately.

I am wondering if the Iams is hard to digest (he's on the young male stuff) and if so what might be easier for him?

Does he gobble his food really fast? One of mine did that with every food I tried, until I found Royal Canin Digestive Care

The kibbles are quite big so the cat can't swallow them whole, they have to be chewed properly, and that really helped with the regurgitating. It's expensive but worth it, it's not wasted like other foods.

My cat eats too fast and bring up food. He is on a prescribed diet so we can't change his food.

We have started using an anti gulp bowl and he hasn't been sick since.

This is helpful, thanks. What's an anti-gulp bowl? I'm reluctant to change him to another dry food as our old cat had terrible problems with cystitis and eventually had to be put down due to kidney failure - if we do change I feel like I think I'd prefer a wet food.

Google "slow bowl for cats" OP, you'll see lots of options. I've got one for my dog who is also a gobbler and it works really well for her. Cat hated his though!

We bought it in small, and my 14yo cat gives me "the look" every time I put it down. But eats his whole meal, he does have to fish some pieces out with his paw.
