Good cat food questions :-)

I have some questions, if you wouldn't mind helping - I'm new to this...

Wet or dry? (I had assumed wet, but read dry could be left if they don't eat straight away)

What are the best brands and where do you buy from? I've been shocked about the amount of non meat ingredients in the foods. I thought cats were carnivores!

What are the best times to feed? Twice a day? Any tips I ought to know?

Do plastic bowls really matter?

Thank you

Harry has a Natures Menu pouch morning and evening with a small bowl James Wellbeloved turkey biscuits at lunchtime and fish biscuits during the night. We can't leave biscuits down all the time as he'll stuff his face and end up with a dodgy jaw again!

On the subject of bowls, he likes a fluted side bowl for his meat and a smaller bowl for biscuits. They have to be china ceramic. (I can't actually believe I'm writing this)!

We've had to adapt his automatic feeder as he didn't like getting the biscuits out of the corners. DH discovered that if you put the freezer block in the feeder the smaller biscuit bowls fit in.

Harry spoilt? Never!

I have a kitten and a long-haired older cat who has had teeth problems in the past, and have given up trying to keep their food separate. So, they have felix for kittens in the morning, and then have dry food left down all day for grazing. The dry food is a mixture of James Wellbeloved kitten and James Wellbeloved for hairballs and/or James Wellbeloved for Oral Health. Water bowls kept topped up at all times.
