The litter tray

Fucking neuter your male cats PLEASE

I have woken up this morning to a horrible stink that was created by the bastard Tom cat from down the road that has come in through an open window and sprayed everywhere. It stinks!

I've tried everything with this cat. I've sprayed water, done the wall of fear, put a paper collar on him telling the owners what he was doing (which would be stopped by a simple ball removal) but still months later the same thing is happening.

Ragdoll has been injured by him a good few times requiring vet treatment, I understand cats fight and the levers aren't responsible for this but he would be less aggressive if his balls were removed.

I have 4 neutered cats. But this one is clearly locked out at night and finds his way in for a feed and a warm. I had to open said window as DS who is disabled with health problems, was fitting and needed cooling down. We fell asleep and were woken up to bastard Tom howling at ragdoll and then the smell hit.

I'm at the end of my tether with him (or more accurately his owners, although I don't know who they are)

If you own a black and white Tom cat with a white tip at the end of his tail, just neuter him and let him in at night PLEASE!

If anyone has any ideas on how to deter this cat I would be very grateful. He is actually a very lovely little soul, although stinky and full of fleas (clearly flea collars aren't very effective as he has a new one on every week)

He's not been today. First time in ages, maybe he's a MNer

Poor wee (no pun intended) cat, sounds like he's in a miserable state but you can't be having this going on.

I'd very much suggest listening to thecatneuterer's advice on matters such as these, what with the clue being very much in her name there Wink

Good luck with getting it all sorted - please let us know what happens. You've worked really hard at keeping the cat out & at contacting the owner so a trip to the vet for tuxedo tomcat the stinky sprayer does seem to be the only option - particularly given your cat's a seizure alert cat & thus a working animal who needs to be focused & not stressed! (I have a suspicion my cats can tell I'm going to fit, but haven't had anyone around to confirm said hunch. They're certainly good at looking after me afterwards though...)

No Confused which is very very strange for him. Especially since I was out overnight for NYE. He usually has a spray party if I'm not in to interrupt him.

How about getting screens fitted for your windows?

Then you can leave the windows open with the screen inserted. Air will get in, but cats won't.

Math thank you that had been suggested, but he gets in loads of other ways as well. In through the door while I'm trying to get DSs wheelchair out (I do watch for him but he's fast and sneaky) in the ought he microchip cat flap by bolting in before it closed as one of my cats goes through, just to name two others.

We got two older toms who were neutered and boy, did they spray. It was just disgusting.

I pinned foil to the curtains and sofas, used gallons of feliway, kept them out of certain rooms. All to no avail.

They were lovely cats though and died of old age.

I now have four 9 month old girl cats. All spayed.

I wish people would neuter straight off. Males and females.

I feel for you op. I would so want to neuter this cat! Maybe assume he's stray.

It annoys me that people dont neuter.. my old cat used to get bullied by a tom cat and used to come in battered.

Little Ernie is being sorted at the moment

He's definitely a mumsnetter!!
Might be worth checking your shed / garage etc.
I hope he's ok and his owners are suddenly responsible.

Maybe yours isn't the only home he visits & someone else has taken him to be snipped? (And in my little head, I'm happily dreaming they have also had him chipped & got his jabs done & properly deflead & wormed him & taken him home with them to their palace & he is now busy living happily ever after in the warm with delicious food & a cosy bed & lots of snuggle time & more toys than you could shake a kickeroo thingy at. I can't help it, I want all cats to be loved & looked after properly...)

I know exactly what you mean zebra. When I got ragdoll I couldn't wait to get him to the vets to be neutered and chipped and de fleed and wormed and then I shaved off all his matter fur and bathed him and then sat back and watched him flourish. There's something about rescue cats that are just that bit more satisfying

When I took my two cats for their first annual check-up the vet was staggered that the two super-healthy specimens of cathood before him were the same scrappy little things he'd seen a year previously as 8 week old kittens in need of a lot of care & attention...

Our neighbours big black tom cat used to do all those things too.
I plucked up the courage to very politely suggest they might like to get him neutered - turns out he already was so it might not be a miracle cure even if he does somehow get done.

i'm goign to chime in and say yes, please neuter your cats, you next door especially. my cat is ill anyway (theres a thread called please help) but the situation is being made worse by my direct neighbour in the flats having an unneutured male which is causing my girl untold stress. my neighbour just says 'men need their balls' Angry i've tried to be reasonable, ive tried to be understanding and i even offered to pay for it to be done in case money was the issue but no, its just him being a selfish prick Angry

OneNight

Maybe you should agree with your neighbour "Men do, cats don't... Wouldn't it be a pity if something were to happen to yours..." Ideally said whilst brandishing some enormous shears or similar...

More seriously, am sorry your neighbour is being such a crashing moron.

Am all for treating animals with respect. Acknowledging they have feelings. But the business about not be

Ha! Animals' feelings! Well mine are currently feeling ignored, apparently, as just headbutted me into premature posting!

What I wanted to say was I hate all the wildly projected stuff re: neutering animals. Ugh.
