WHY does my cat take is food OUT of the sodding bowl

Before he eats it, making my clean floor all fishy? Why?!

I have a wipe clean mat under the bowls but he takes it off that too to lick off the floor and leave a little patch of disgusting meaty shreds in jelly for people in bare feet to stand on.

How can I make him leave it in the bleedin' bowl??

Get bigger bowl or use a plate. My cats often do this. I figure the bowl may be tickling their whiskers, the other cat is too close or they are criticising my standard of washing up!

Whiskers should not be bent when eat or drinking. Cats like wide, flat dishes to eat from.

Is that right about the whiskers Lonecat? Must be the problem! I will change to a plate for each cat, miles away from the other.

Thanks!

My dog does this!!!

Also thanks wolfiefan as you had the same suggestion (and toughasoldboots, my cat is the wussiest cat alive and will not go in the garden when there's a spider in it, so i don't think he can be killing it!)

All cat friendly veterinary practices are required to offer wide, flat open bowls for cats because of this it's s very real thing:

My cat only takes out & "kills" really good stuff like if I've given her a bit of cooked chicken or something, sometimes runs away & eats it under the tableGrin Much prefers dishes her whiskers don't touch but if she's hungry enough (ie most of the time) she'll overlook that!
