Hello,

Us again!

I adopted Kenzo, a 9yr old rescue, just over a week ago. She has settled in great, eating, using litter tray, playing, very affectionate.

She has suddenly realised where the front door is and is trying to get out. Especially at night. I've tried to distract her with food, play etc but I'm worried she is frustrated. We are awaiting blood test results to see what vaccines she might need and she's not allowed out til that's all sorted.

Also, I plugged in a Feliway at vet's advice and 24hrs later, she was acting spooked, racing up and down the hall late at night. Although this may be because I had dog and cat hair on me from being at a friend's? Or because she's bored and frustrated? She seems ok today (so far).

Thank you for any thoughts or advice. :-)

Whatever the cause is, it isn't the Feliway. Regardless of anything else you should keep her in for around three weeks to make sure she regards your house as home.

It's tough but it won't be for much longer. Do you have a cat flap?

Hi,

Thanks for your response.

No, I don't have a catflap installed as yet. I wanted to see if she DID want to be an outdoor cat first (rescue centre weren't sure). But I have my handyman on standby!

She'll have to lump it, she's no vaccinated for a start off. Torties are feisty little things so she'll be determined to get out.

I know, it's hard to be a strict mummy!

Yes - Fluffy had it right.

Strength, Left. Strength. Just say No. Grin

(At least now that she's using her tray well.)
