Hello y'all!

You might recognise me from 2 threads in AIBU where I was agonising about getting a cat (due to working hours) and then which of 2 on a shortlist.

Well, here she is: Kenzo, age 9. She has settled in like a DREAM! We have had our first night together and it's all perfect!

She wants to say hello and thank you in advance for answering mummy's questions!

Hello everyone!

We are getting on great, thank you!

She is using the litter tray and the scratching post (sprayed it with cat nip and dangled her toy) without any problem! So hopefully the furniture will survive!

She comes when I call her name and knows "no" and when to jump up and jump down on/off my knee. She also knows not to go on the work surfaces! Must have been well-trained at some by the last owner (who had to move abroad). She purrs and loves to be combed. We are well-bonded already! She rubs her head on me and licks me. Luckily she hardly miaows as well so wont piss off the old lady in the flat next to mine.

Today we registered at the vet and picked up some toys at the pet shop and lots of fluffy blankets for the sofas/beds/chairs and some rugs (she seems to like them and I mainly have hardfloors).

Yesterday, she had some poached salmon and today she had some roast chicken. Mummy has been reading lots though to make sure we have a nice healthy routine so she doesn't get fat!

She got a bit pissed off earlier when I noisily brought a whole load of shopping bags in and buggered off to sit on the windowsill in the bedroom behind the curtain. i left her a while and then called her and she came out, being loving again.

She is a VERY luck cat if I do say so myself! I am going to take some pics and write a nice letter to the previous owner for the rescue centre to forward on. (Not giving my details in case she comes and steals her back at some point!)

Spent £200 in Pets at Home in last 3 days!

Well done, Janey! And thank goodness for the vet! Hope you have many happy years left with Maddie. My parents had a cat live til 24.

And lol @ Giles. Kenzo sends you some kisses as she seems to have plenty to spare!
