Hairs sticking out of his bum. Mine.

I noticed last night. He goes in and out of the house so I don't know if he's had a bowel movement. I don't want to tug in case I hurt him. Is this a vet job, or a wait and see thing? (I also can't snip the hair, because he's being very protective of his backside.)

My cats get this and I never pull as you never know if the other end is ready to come out yet. Just wait for another bowel movement and see if it passes. Can you catch him unaware as he sleeps to snip the hair?

You must have a very chilled cat, mine get all stressed and I end up having to pull it/snap it off.

It'll come out eventually.

Awake, he's lying in a position that is showing off his current issue. But when he sleeps, he curls up and tucks his tail under him. He doesn't seem bothered at all.

I'll just keep an eye on him for now then - and keep the scissors close! Actually I'll keep him inside too, so I can monitor the litter tray. The joys of being a cat keeper!!

I read the thread title 3 or 4 times looking like this Shock before I read which section it's in (Litter Tray), then it made sense!

We had a cat that ate a strand of the sparkly, silver Xmas decoration which meant it's poos came out all joined by a silver strand like a string of beads! Grin

But, yes - don't pull it. It should be gone after the cat has a poo.
