My cat is actually a bit of a (teenage?!) dickhead. Is it a phase?!

One of my rescue cats is basically swanning around like a teenager (moody, only seeks attention when she wants something, disappears outside for hours on end, sometimes overnight, wants to eat crap food all the time but is miraculously slim etc etc). She's also got into a few fights, been mysteriously locked in somewhere for a whole day and got stuck up a tree. Oh and brought in a still warm birds egg. Ok some of this is catty behaviours that might not change but I do have the feeling a lot of it is sort of... teenagery Grin. Do cats have a sort of adolescence?!

Btw it is lovely to see her having new experiences and learning about the world but she's a bit of a worry! Her sister is the complete opposite!

How old is she? Mine is 6 now, and is still a dickhead Hmm Not expecting him to change now!

Firefly she's nearly one, so officially teenage in cat years I guess! But doesn't mean she'll stop being a dickhead when she's older then?!

Mine's been one all his life. Was a kitten with an attitude and I can't say he's improved any. He's either eating, sleeping or creating havoc.

Mine's always had an attitude! If you do anything she doesn't like, she just scratches you. She sits where she likes and if dare get in her line of sight, she glares at you until you move!

I've got one of these. She's 18 months, no signs of changing Grin

Ah more feline dickheads! Yes mine intimidates my dd and ds with withering looks. She was found as a lone kitten hissing and spitting in someone's garden shed so I can't be surprised she's got an attitude really!

Mine was also abandoned as a tiny kitten, I suppose they're just very feisty and independent due to a shit start. At least they have us to love and adore them now Grin

I have an 18 year old who for the first time yesterday whipped my glasses off my face and chased them round the room Hmm

I know nothing about cats, but I'm loving the idea of dickhead cats!
