DS just came into me this morning as told me, I tried to look in his mouth (the cat's not DS's!) but be wrestled his way out my and has skedaddled, though I caught a glimps of it before he left and there's definitely something there.

Do cats get ulcers? Should I try locate him and check again (with the cat flap locked)? Though DS told me off and said I should have just had the cat lick me to check rather than be a meanie.

He was eating and drinking loads recently and ate this morning.

As you've verified there's something there, I'd vet him on Monday. In humans - my only point of reference, I'm afraid - they're usualy not serious but they should be checked out.

Is he generally in good health?

Yes he's healthy. He's just one and fully vaccinated.
