Thanks everyone. Pandora was 13 and my first Burmese girl. She had so much personality it was unbelievable: a real force of nature. I will miss her beautiful face and her head butting. I still have her daughter which is a big consolation.

Here we have Very Old Tabby, teenage B/W, and the pair of them tolerating each other's presence on the same bed, because it is a new bed, with new bedding.

Note how they are both carefully avoiding the towel spread out to accommodate passing moggies.

We've been in Scotland for a week and we're on the way home, stopping en route with a relly. And while we've been away, we haven't seen A SINGLE CAT. Can any Scots MNers shed any light on this?

I'm looking forward to some big cuddles tomorrow.

Mimi I am so sorry.

To the PP who asked was it accidental - sadly, it seems my kitty was poisoned on purpose.

These pictures are so lovely though, keep them coming. :)

Dreamiesrcatopium · 05/07/2015 00:41

So sorry Mimi. :'(

My girl has been loving keeping me company as I read in the sunshine, this was today in our garden.

Lambbone

Probably snoozing somewhere would be my guess. Either because the heat was unusual for them or because in many parts of Scotland, in my experience, owners don't restrict their cats to daytime wandering but almost prefer them to go out at night. Go round a Scottish town in the early hours of the morning and it's quite eery how many cats will be around - on walls, on roofs, on ridgetiles - everywhere.

Watching Little Monsieur standing on his hind legs pleading with a fly to come closer. Complete with "errr, erngya, ack, ack, ack", noises. With added teeth chattering, like one of the monsters from Hellraiser.

Corygal · 07/07/2015 21:40

Little M not only a brave, fierce hunter kitty but a linguistic phenomenon.

BuggersMuddle · 07/07/2015 21:41

BuggersMoggy looking a bit grumpy.

This one's a few month's old - his current penchant for rolling in the ground on building sites - particularly when he's just had his ears sun creamed - means he is currently more BuggersMucky Hmm and I keep worrying neighbours will think he's straying! As opposed to Six Dinner's Sid'ing, which we all know and accept that he does

BuggersMuddle · 07/07/2015 21:47

Lambone Agree with cozie that it's fairly usual in my experience for cats to be out at night here. Loads of people back home and indeed PIL used to lock out for the night, which I always thought was mean! BuggerMoggy comes and goes as he pleases, but at this time of year he'll alternate between snoozing indoors / sunbathing all day and will go out on the prowl when we go to bed.

Odd to see none though? Where were you in Scotland - some weird dog only town? Wink There are loads of cats around where I live though (east coast) and also where I grew up.

RubbishMantra · 07/07/2015 22:15

BuggersCat is a Kitler ! They wouldn't accept MCat though, as he only has half a 'tache.

Here's another Kitler, for comparison.

I have heard this accusation before RubbishMantra but while I can see it a little bit, I don't think he's massively a kitler! He does look a bit kitlerish in that photo I'll admit. In this one, he looks a bit more...Sith Lord. Grin

BuggersMuddle · 07/07/2015 23:22

Oh actually I read the FAQ and he is apparently a textbook kitler Blush I thought they needed kitler 'brows' also. Poor BuggersMoggy!

RubbishMantra · 08/07/2015 01:16

Loving BuggersCat's stylish head-wear. He sort of reminds me of a raver at a rainy festival. Here's Little Monsieur sporting his own head-gear. Channelling his inner Lawrence of Arabia?

Didn't mean to imply your kitty is an evil dictator Grin

Stan and Bunty (B is the wicked looking black cat) They play fight and despite both being neutered, I'm convinced Bunty has a crush on Stan. Every so often I find them in a grunty fur ball, rolling about together, before Bunty stops and starts washing Stan's ears.

RubbishMantra · 08/07/2015 17:10

That's the most gorgeous kitten ever! He's tiny, but stout.

idontknowmyusernameanymore · 08/07/2015 17:23

Thank you rubbish Grin

Gingermum · 10/07/2015 19:24

Martyr I forgot to say how sorry I am for your loss. But that kitty had lots of love from you.

Sleepybeanbump · 10/07/2015 19:54

What a nice thread. Here are my two. The tabby hid under a bed for a month when we first got her from the rescue and now marches round the house bossing us about. Her specialty is being able to herd a human into an armchair so she can sit on them. She's the gentlest cat I've ever known, and one of the largest.
Tortie has owned the house and us since day one. She's an evil menace. She turns from purring bliss to scratching fiend in a second and has recently taken to walloping me straight in the face. She wakes us up in the middle go the night by sitting on her haunches and hammering on doors with her front paws. She doesn't want food. She can go out as she pleases. She just wants us to either be awake, or asleep but in another room of her choosing. Tortie tyrant.
