Bit of an impulse but we just collected a beautiful ginger kitten from a stables close to where we live. He's absolutely gorgeous!

Parents are feral and the stable girls have been trying to rehome the kittens. I'm only too glad to take him Grin

So, please give me suggestions on a name for little mister!

Marmalade! Very cute kitten.

IHaveBrilloHair · 27/06/2015 19:14

Christopher, I like human names on cats.

ErinBlockerBitch · 27/06/2015 19:16

Ninja

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 27/06/2015 19:16

Keith.

I also like human names. Slightly naff ones.

girliefriend · 27/06/2015 19:17

I met a ginger cat today that was called Beans, thought that was quite cute!

Otherwise Dave is always funny on a cat!!

ouryve · 27/06/2015 19:18

Jenkins.

It just fits him. Jenkins, the stable boy. I have no idea if there is a Jenkins the stable boy anywhere in literature, but my brain wants there to be.

Asterix? Boris?

Gorgeous kitten! Love ginger boys.

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 27/06/2015 19:20

Or Gary. Gary suits him. I realise my names will be shunned, btw.

I love ALL the naff human names! Can't have Gary (bil's cat) or Dave (that's what we call the kids!!!)

Seconding Ninja, but the first name that came to mind when I saw his face was Percy.

NomiMalone · 27/06/2015 19:24

Ron.

Think about it.

ancientbuchanan · 27/06/2015 19:24

Orlando.

Human name with outstanding literary precedent. My fave literary cat, along with jeffrey

Other famous cats,

Gobbolino, if hungry, though usually black.
Whatever Dr Johnsons very fine cat was called, a very fine cat indeed.
Felix
Tom
Marmaduke ( the iron tum, from The Rescuers)
Samson, in the vicarage cat who I think was marmalade

Other thoughts
On the marmelade theme, Dundee, Cooper, Oxford
Tiger/Tigger/ Tiggy
Leo
Tawney/ Tawny, the first if you are socialist by inclination
Auberon/ Aubrey/ Auburn
