When did your cat first catch something? Bird/mouse etc

My two are great chasers of leaves and flies, and love chase and catch games with a feather on a string, but neither of them have ever caught and killed anything. They are 2 years old and 11 months old. The older one brought in a live mouse once but I genuinely think she thought it was her friend, and to be honest the younger one is similar, he thinks everyone is his friend and was trying to get my 4 week old niece to pat him Grin

I love the way they are but will they ever change? Did yours start bring dead things in at a particular age?

KittyMoln caught a pigeon just recently (10 months). It was pretty grim as he didn't actually kill it. I thought he had but noticed it was still breathing when I went to pick it after KittyMoln had walked off. It was rotten as I knew it had been fatally injured and I should put it out of its misery but it went against all my instincts to kill an animal.

First mouse was brought home at 7 months.

I remember it well. A dead magpie was placed under my son's cot the day the day the health visitor was making her first visit. Never found out which of them did it. At the time I had had them three and a half years. It seemed like a mafia type message at the time...
