do I take this 9 week old kitten to 24 hour vet? wwyd

We got two new 8 week old kittens from a reputable cat refuge last saturday. Siblings, a boy and girl. Recently spayed/neutered. They've been fine so far but two days ago one of the cats started to have slightly runny poo. Otherwise he's quite full of beans and is eating loads. Today though I came back from work to find that both kittens were having runny poo (each has different coloured poo if that of any interest). They then started looking really fragile and lethargic - just clinging to whoever sits down long enough. The female cat then started being sick. First she emptied the entire contents of her stomach (she'd been eating well until early evening), since then she's had a couple of episodes of retching and bringing up mucus.

I've never had a cat before so not sure if I should panic and drive across London to find a 24 hour vet, or just take them in the morning. wwyd?

I'm not so worried about the male cat, who seems quite perky. It's the female cat who can't face food and barely wants to move. Might she need to be on a drip?

If you ring the vet you use they will have a nurse on duty who can advise you, they are very young so it's more important for them.

I definitely would take them asap, they are both very young and can take a turn for the worse very quickly

Are they registered with a vet? If so ring them. There'll be an out of hours number on their answering service. Otherwise, find an out of hours surgery by googling local vets, who also leave an out of hours number. Bring a stool sample in for lab testing.

In my experience, a vet will only urge you to bring them in if necessary, so trust their judgement.

Which London rescue did they come from? If it's Celia Hammonds they have a 24 hour on-call vet.

I think they do need to see a vet. They will probably need fluids at the very least.

Yes please definitely get them seen by a vet ASAP, they are so little and can deteriorate very quickly. The morning is too long to wait in my opinion

Definitely go to the vets. Have you noticed if there was an blood in either their poo or sick? At their age I'm assuming they haven't had their vaccinations. Their symptoms sound very panleuk to me, which can be fatal if not treated immediately. They're too small to fight sickness by themselves.
