Girlie cat is really poorly....

Some of you might remember me posting a while ago as my young girl cat had ulcers in her mouth and after a biopsy was found to have a rare auto immune disorder.

However she picked up with treatment (steroids mostly) and was seemingly making a full recovery.

Then on Friday I noticed she wasn't eating or doing very much, took her to the vet ystd or was puzzled as doesn't think this is linked to her original diagnosis. He have her anti inflammatories and antibiotics and we have to take her back later this morning.

She looks really ill, now not moving, hasn't eaten or drunk anything in 48 hours (apart from the few mls we are syringing into her as per vet advice) she looks like she is dying Sad Sad this poor cat seems to have no luck, she is only 13 months old.

Dd is especially close to her and we have had lots of tears already, I am assuming they will keep her in today for 'tests' but I am wondering if she has been poisoned or something.

Just posting for support really, i can't bear seeing her so ill Sad

Hi sorry for neglecting the thread, so Girlie cat has once again defied the odds and made nothing short of a miraculous recovery!! She went in on Tuesday for blood tests and iv fluids, had a phone call in the afternoon to say it wasn't leukaemia which was a big relief.

In the mean time she came home and started to eat, drink and poo!! She passed a large black stool which Im not sure if that is significant or not Confused Am going to ring the vet tomos for a chat but she is currently purring away on my dds lap!!

Can't believe this is the same cat that I honestly thought was on deaths door Monday Shock (the insurance company are going to love us Wink) thank you all for your support, it really did help - thank you Flowers

Well that's what insurance is for. At least she isn't dehydrated any more.

cozietoesie · 28/05/2015 20:36

I'm glad she's better and no leukaemia is something at any rate. Thank Goodness you have insurance.

I have been thinking of girliecat, saw there had been more posts on this thread and was expecting a sad update so this is fantastic news! What a relief! Grin

code · 28/05/2015 21:32

Great news, fingers crossed for her.

fenneltea · 28/05/2015 22:04

What a relief for you! That's fantastic news. I'm glad she's home and happy Smile

RubbishMantra · 28/05/2015 22:12

Ah, brilliant!

Bet you never imagined you'd be so happy to see a big poo :D

girliefriend · 28/05/2015 23:05

Yes it is a relief, I feel a bit of a fraud for being so worried but she looked so ill!! Am a bit worried about how quickly she is going through her 9 lives though Grin

Will get the rest of her blood test results tomos but looking at her now you wouldn't have known anything was wrong - I am sure I have quite a few more grey hairs now!!

So glad your cat is doing better. She's so pretty. I'd send a slap but she's too cute so will have to be a cuddle instead.

wishing her a long happy life and god news with results tomorrow.

A nice big poo from Seniorboy will cheer me up for hours. Don't knock it Mantra. Grin

Best of luck to her for tomorrow's results, girlie.

RubbishMantra · 29/05/2015 00:47

Yes, I hope your beautiful Girliecat's results will be reassuring.

I love that our spirits can be cheered by a big poo on this board! Tad constipated myself at the moment. Confused

girliefriend · 29/05/2015 13:25

Oh dear Rubbish hope things get moving for you really soon!

Vet said the bloods were 'unremarkable' looks like it will be another one of those mysterious things that we will not ever be 100% sure of the cause! Oh well, thank you again for all your support Smile

How has she done this weekend?

girliefriend · 31/05/2015 20:59

Hi Cozie well she seems fine, i am genuinely Confused as to what was wrong with her, am guessing she must have eaten something.

Cats are amazing Smile

cozietoesie · 31/05/2015 21:10

Well done her. Smile Although I guess that you'll be keeping a close eye on her for a while yet?

girliefriend · 31/05/2015 22:03

Yeah, I still need to chat it through properly with the vet to see what their take on it all was. Just had an answer phone message to say her bloods were fine didn't actually speak to them in person iyswim.

They had felt something in her gut on one of the consultations so I wonder whether it was linked to the large poo she did!! She has a tendency to eat hair bands so half wonder if something like that had got stuck somewhere.
