Just a message of hope really. My boy kitty that I rescued from RSPCA last May, then disappeared in August, is home after exactly 8 months Smile

He was found only a few streets away and being fed by some lovely blokes in a house share. They'd spotted one of my old posters near a shop when they'd got some chips, contacted Animal Search who then called me. I picked up my boy kitty who is a bit thin & mucky and got him scanned and he was confirmed as my missing pusscat!

So so pleased. He seems uninjured but having full vet check up later. And his (unrelated) sister kitty is desperate to see him but he's not so keen at the moment! Hmm Any thoughts on re-integrating them? They were inseparable in the RSPCA which is why I adopted them both.

No advice I'm afraid but what a lovely story to start the day Grin

What a wonderful surprise.
I think you will need to keep him indoors for 2-3 weeks at least, as he is likely to wander back to the area he was living in. There is a cat in my friend's neighbourhood who has been living outside for 2 years with 2 different households feeding her, and she sleeps in a shed. We know where she used to live and she has been taken back there several times, but she keeps reappearing. The original owners now have other cats and aren't interested in keeping her. If I didn't have 3 cats already I would love to have her as she is a lovely black cat.
I hope your girlcat will get used to him soon.

Loopy that's wonderful! Did you post here last year about him being lost? I think I remember it...
How lovely to get him back and I hope he gets used to your other cat again soon. He probably will, given a bit of time & patience. I've never done it the "proper" way but I'm sure others will have some tips.

What a lovely story.

As for reintegration friends of mine introduced a new cat to their house by having new cat in just one room for a few days. Then shutting existing cat in another room and letting new cat explore and scent mark. This carried on for about a week. Then they let them meet.

That's so lovely and gives me hope, our boy has been missing for a month now and we miss him terribly.

Smile I wouldn't seperate them, just let them get on with it. Fab story, well chuffed for you.

Boycat has settled back in brilliantly Grin

He was very tired for a few days and I introduced him back to girlcat just a little at a time. He seems to have more energy now, a week on and him & girlcat are playing, eating & napping around each other fine Smile
