New cat hasn't use litter tray in almost 24h....?!

We've adopted a lovely little cat yesterday from cats protection....they're not sure how old she was as she was dumped...they said 1 but I'm pretty sure she's younger...she's tiny and scrawny! Especially compared to our lovely boy that died 2w ago

She's sneezing quite a lot but apparently has a cold and they offered to keep her for a few more days but it made more sense to bring her home...she hasn't been to the toilet at all since we brought her home at 3pm yesterday...she is eating and drinking....not loads but she's much smaller then the cat were used to iygwim so probably enough for her....she's explored the house and is currently snoozing.

We're nervous after the loss of our boy so does this sound ok/normal?!

Don't worry that's completely normal. I've known cats just arriving at our clinic lasting out for around 48 hours. It just seems to be something that cats do when they're a bit unsure.

In fact I currently have four cats in my house in hospital baskets that I trapped yesterday afternoon. They are waiting at my house to go into the clinic for neutering on Monday.

So that's four cats and nearly 24 hours. Not one has had so much as a wee.

I worried too when I brought mine home... I was most relieved when they finally went after about 36 hours!

She might need to be just in a one room with her tray, and food/water for a night tho to feel secure and private?
