I know my little kitty is still very young but this is his routine:

Goes out in the morning when we get up for 10 mins or so , comes in for a feed, goes out for another 10 mins then comes in and sleeps all day!!!

Afternoon when home from work does the above .... evening from around 7pmish he likes to go out for around an hour, not sure if more kitty friends are out there then when we go to bed he comes in sleeps all night.

When he was a small kitten last year he slept alot as of course he was still a baby and I suppose 15months old he still is quite young. Perhaps summer, warmer weather he will stay out more

Is this normal?

Normal Grin.

It's a cat's prerogative to sleep all day, save for occasional meal break & toilet visit.

Except for about 3am when they will wake you up by standing on your face or miaowing very loudly for no reason.

ha Joey is so sleepy, he hates cold weather and the wind. I did wonder about getting him a playmate thinking he was bored

Ours are exactly the same.. Lazy fuckers they are!

hulahoopsilove · 18/03/2015 18:54

he doesnt venture that far so perhaps he is going to be a homely cat...our previous cat (sadly died age 18) used to disappear for hours so maybe our new family member is just homely...suits me :)

Interesting just read this:

Cats sleep an average of fifteen hours a day, and some can sleep up to twenty hours in a twenty-four hour period. The first thing you should realize is that cats are most active between dusk and dawn, which means that they sleep mostly during the day and become active around twilight. This can come as quite a shock if you're bringing a new kitty home for the first time. Your cat will waste no time investigating and getting into trouble -- usually while you’re fast asleep! But as soon your cat is done with breakfast, as the rest of the world winds up for action, you'll find him winding down for a long day of slumber.

Mine is 8 and he sometimes manages to stroll down the garden and stretch out on the bench down there instead of on the sofa but that's only if he's feeling really energetic.

QueenFuri · 18/03/2015 19:05

Mine sleeps away a lot if the day and night. She wakes up for food and a little play. . She has a great life.

Yup agree with what everyone else said, extremely normal cat behaviour....cats have it made. Envy

Forgot to say our two have their energetic hours when the rest of the household are 'trying' to sleep as well Hmm

...It's a good job they're cute Grin

One of mine is 8 months the other 18 months. They're both the same. Eat shit sleep.
