Another one. Sad They seem to be annually now. I hate it and she hates it. Nothing to eat after 10pm tonight.

Ugh. I hate this.

Yes, that's true cozie. We had to do the 'tip the carrier virtually upside down' thing to get her out in the first place.

I gave her a kiss, said 'be good, love you' like she was one of the DC. Blush

I have just phoned the vets. She's all done, just a clean, no extractions or anything.

Picking her up at 4pm. Poker face ready for the bill. Wink

Yes, the "oh is that all?" Face. Good news on the lack of extractions.

I have a Burmilla and two Burmese and my cat dental bill went through the roof when I stopped their raw diet a few years ago (one used to drag meat off and eat it under the sofa, not good when DD came along). No other breed I've had have had such bad build up so quickly.
All three are now on raw plus the Hills prescription dental and it is very good at preventing tartar. I don't get it from the vets though, it's £10 cheaper from zooplus.

I wonder if raw, crunchy food might help?

Sparklingbrook · 03/02/2015 20:57

Hi all. She's home, and has eaten loads and now fast asleep.

It came to £140.69. They want to see her again on Friday. I will ask lots of questions re her diet and toothpaste and everything.

She will only eat Felix as Good as it Looks pouches and only in fish flavour. Any other wet food is rejected.

Glad she's home and eating well.
Funny enough it was fish pouches that my three used to love!

Millicat is having his first dental next week too. He is 13 and done really well so far due to regular crunching of squirrels/pigeons etc. He used to have 2 wet pouches a day + biscuits to graze on, but now eats 1 "posh" tray (Sheba) split 1/2 for breakfast and 1/2 for evening and I am migrating him to Iams biscuits rather than Whiskers. Will have to look at Hills too.

We were warned he had a bit of plaque aged about 8, but managed to avoid treatment but he now has a small cavity so at least removing that they will clean & scale all of his teeth and I am hoping that will last him for a good few years!

It could have been worse re the £££s I suppose.

Seniorboy is fixed on the AGAIL Doubly Delicious meat pouches. (He won't touch fish flavours.) I'm forced to use the boxes of 'decent but rejected' pouches and tins as spoilers to improve his appetite for other meals.

(If there are any crocs in our city's sewers, they're getting a good diet of decent cat food from cozietowers.)
