Mr Cory would kill me if he read this - are Dreamies bad for cats?

Like most self-respecting felines, Mr Cory is a cat crack ho for Dreamies. I try and stick to the maximum of 20 a day, but are they bad for him? What happens if he ODs?

He gets fat.

Shit. RainbowCat has a handful of them in his bowl for overnight. He's in bed with his catnip fish.

We've all nearly lost fingers giving our cat dreamies. They are indeed crack for cats. This morning I got my meds out of a boots paper bag and daft cat was trying to swipe my co-codamol thinking I'd got the dreamies out. We'll both be in rehab together

I can't quite work it out.

DramaCat, the lucky boy, got a pack for Christmas. He ate loads at one go & then got violently sick. He hasn't touched them since.

His drug of choice is catnip, he loves the stuff.

My cat is a catnip addict too.

He rolls about in a drug fueled frenzy when you give him some.

I don't like the notion of them - they just seem so addictive that I wonder what's in them. (I'm fairly safe here though - Seniorboy won't touch them.)

My cats choose Felix Goody Bag treats over Dreamies. Similar reaction though, they go so nuts for them it makes you wonder what exactly is in there. Eldest cat is pushing eighteen now though so she gets to eat what she likes.

I think moderation is key, you know, like eating 2 bars of green&blacks may not be beneficial to us humans.

I grow catnip in my garden so MCat can get high on his own supply. However, he's learnt to self regulate - he knows his limits.

I grow cat nip. Kittens are interested but not enthused. Old lady Portia on the other hand... jesus... she is like a heroin addict ! It turns a sedate old lady into a writhing mess

Dreamies are my control. If I want the kittens in, or anywhere, I just shake that packet and drop a few on the floor... god knows what's in them but I am half tempted to try them to see if they make me that happy!

Ours are used solely in emergencies.

Tempting cats off portio roof via ladder.

Tempting cats off porch roof via open shutter.

Tempting cats off next door's stable roof via wood pile.

Tempting cats in at night.

Bribing next door's dogs into loving us and not barking like maniacs/hurling selves at the fence right next to gate ... every single time we leave/come home.

Not feeding them willy nilly at 2 euros a bag.

One cat can't have them. She gets the runs. Smoked salmon is used to bribe her away from where she is not supposed to be. Spoiled wotnot.

No catnip here unfortunately. I should start importing it. I'd become a millioaire if I could get the country's felines addicted while controlling the supply.

If they eat too many they get the trots and you find yourself cutting poohy fur off your long haired cats bum...

I'm not sure but my kitten is a beef dreamie addict, she will tolerate other flavours but the beef ones she goes mad for. I've not tried her with catnip though as she is only 6 months.

Dreamies are fiiiine. The effect the nepeta in the garden has on him is a different matter. It drives him wild!

Smallcat goes crazy for them and we give her a few most evenings. Last time I offered Bigcat some she gored me, sent the Dreamies scattering and ran off growling She's not one for interaction cuddles though.

There must be something wrong with my cat, she isn't bothered about them at all.

Bit of a sniff and that's it. I mixed a few in with her biscuits but she couldn't give a shit about them.

Judging by all I read, she is the only cat in the world that wouldn't chuck you under a bus for a dreamie

Mine are anyones for dreamies. I buy the anti furball ones so I kid myself that they are medicinal.
