sleeping with cat on bed

I've been having real trouble getting the almost 6 month old new kitten to sleep on my bed.

He wants to be anywhere but there and especially if there are boxes, book shelves, tiny bit of clutter lying around, anyway he just wanders round the room, onto my standalone mirror with the drawer at the bottom, on the windowsill, near the laundry basket etc

If I place him on the bed (a nice big double bed) he lies there for a few minutes looking all soft and gorgeous when lights are out he stays there a few minutes then it's out rampaging round the room.

anyway any ideas? I do want to sleep with him (on the bed). I've had other cats who like you lot may have had experience, one was fine, didn't move happily slept on the bed with me, the other didn't he moved all round the bed all night (not off it).

Ours play musical beds all night.

You could get a catnip spray and spray it lightly on a bit of your duvet. Or Feliway spray might work. Actually, probably the Feliway, but it's more expensive.

This sounds completely normal and its the reason all my cats sleep downstairs!

If they ever accidently get left in the bedroom ,I wake up at 4am to find them spider hunting or sitting on my chest ,staring at me.Hmm

Sunday afternoon snoozes with a cat tucked in to you and the wind howling outside. Nothing like it. Smile

I'm reading this now because my sleep was interrupted ... by the cat farting in my face!

Well my cat loves to curl up to sleep right at the top of the staircase. It looks like a mad uncomfortable spot, but I guess he's keeping his eye on the stairs , landing and hall, and has the front door in his line of vision.

Maybe he's guarding the house!

I got trapped in bed by a cat. He was lay on my stomach, I dared to try and move. I swear I got a raised eyebrow, and a single claw dug into my stomach
I wouldn't mind if he was actually my cat Confused

One on mine likes to sleep on me, to honest its a pain, I turn over he gets flung off then protests loudly and wakes me up, it goes on all bloody night, the other one sleeps on the sofa on fleece blanket, the cat beds are ignored don't know I bothered buying them, If I could shut them out of bedroom I would , but no door at the moment (long story). We also have one that plays fetch and is very attached to any sponge like item, he once came running up to me dragging a loaf of bread between his legs...

Work out what he likes to sleep on and put it on the bed. eg a fluffy dressing gown; a plastic bag; a laundry basket; a pile of your clothes or whatever.
