Ok once again our 12month old cat has nearly got run over, he is such an inquisative kitty and I just know at some point there are going to be trips to the vets!!!

My friends cat was hit by a car recently and although she had pet insurance she was furious to find out it didnt cover car accidents. Her overall bill was £800.

Which insurance would you recommend?

I used healthy pets but not claimed anything yet so don't know how good it is.

I'm with Petplan, just had a look at the policy, no mention of not paying out for RTAs.

They're expensive though, £35 pcm for 2 cats.

Honestly I have never come across a policy that does not pay out for accidents. I have one across accident only policies.
£800 for an RTA treatment would be cheap I always advise to be insured for about 7K.

Virtually every pet insurance policy will cover the cost of accidents. If she has had the policy for a long time it may be an old policy as I know one ot two of these did not cover accidents. If it is a recent policy unless the insurer made it very clear that the time of purchase that it is not cover car accidents I would suggest that she may have a case to take the financial ombudsman. Do you know which Insurance company it was?
