Kitten in that tiresome, attention-demanding PAINFUL period - what can I do??

Found my beautiful kitten Olive aged about 4 weeks by the road in a rainstorm. She's a great kitty with a massive personality; her new trick is to retrieve toys I throw, jump on my lap and drop it for me to throw again!!

But she's now about 4 months old and so, so clingy. Obviously I love her dearly but I cannot sit down for two minutes without her climbing up my leg (WHICH BLOODY HURTS!) or trying to get on my shoulder to suckle my ear!

A couple of times I've accidentally knocked her with my foot while walking because she's always following me everywhere. She also now wont sleep on top of the duvet, but insists on sleeping under it, right up against me, which is lovely but means I don't sleep wonderfully as I'm terrified of rolling over and squishing her.

Do I just ride out this period or am I being a mug for being ruled by a tiny kitten?!

Cat

I used to foster for Cats Protection. I was between foster cats and she followed a neighbour's son.

We did the knocking on doors, took her to the vet to see if she was chipped and they took a description to put out to other vets.

Finally we found someone who thought she belonged to someone who had a cat that was not 'done' and liked it to have kittens and then let the kittens go.

Of course by this time she had made herself at home and gone in to season.

In the pic the red box to the right of her is a ring box. The wooden statue of Ganesh just behind her shoulder is about 6in tall.

I don't know that she had a litter, but it is a possible reason for her being small.

This is her teamed up with my NDN's cat, there is a third cat up the tree and a squirrel - the squirrel did escape. NDN's cat is just average cat size

Sorry I should say the was an 'I think there is someone over there....etc' with a vague pointing of hands and when we went 'there' no one admitted to owning her, I didn't kidnap her.
